[edit]Hi! I'm Jonathan Cohen, the son of the radio, TV and Film Maury Cohen whom the author of your grandfather's Wikpedia page has confused with your dad. My dad was born Morris Cohen in 1912 in Bakersfield, California. He WAS the Executive Producer of the film "Damnation Alley." The last two sentences of your grandfather's page pertain to my dad (indeed, the second sentence mentions my mom, brother and me).
I have tried to alert Wikipedia to the need for distinguishing your grandfather's page from my dad's life events, but as I am unfamiliar and frankly leery of Wikipedia's draconian rules, I have not attempted to create a page that concerns my dad. Accordingly I am using a Wikipedia page creation company to create a brand new "Maury Cohen" page. I have asked them to only edit out those two sentences from your grandfather's page that pertain to my dad rather than your grandfather, and to otherwise leave your grandfather's page, "Maury M. Cohen" alone. I would welcome your thoughts concerning this strange situation. I contacted the original author of your grandfather's page some time ago using "Talk" in order to alert him he conflated your grandfather with my father, but no corrections followed. Hi, I'm the grandson of Maury M. Cohen, founder of the Hollywood Palladium. I also saw that the two Maury Cohens were mixed up but the author was unwilling to make any changes and I gave up trying to get changes. I welcome your efforts. My grandfather died before I was born so I never met him and don't have a lot of knowledge about his business dealings in the 1930s but I do know that he was born in 1889 in Russia and immigrated to Chicago as a baby with his mother. He died in 1949, so the dates they list for him are also wrong. His full name was Maurice Meir Cohen, and his wife was Fannie Cohen so possibly this could help distinguish him from the details of your father as research is done to distinguish the two.
