Image tagging for Image:Hales 4 2006.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Hales 4 2006.JPG. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. --Vsmith 02:36, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Gabriel Leitao, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Wikipedian27 22:20, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Assuming this deleted page was about you, you may be able to include some or all of its content on your user page, User:Gabrielleitao. See Wikipedia:User page for what you can and cannot put on your user page.

License tagging for Image:Marcelo Gleiser COSMOS.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Marcelo Gleiser COSMOS.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit]
An image that you uploaded, Image:Marcelo Gleiser COSMOS.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Copyright problems because it is a suspected copyright violation. Please look there if you know that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), and then provide the necessary information there and on its page, if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. teb728 20:30, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I believe you are mistaken in claiming the image is in the public domain teb728 20:30, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps I should say that the reason I doubt your claim is that the page you copied the image from contains the following notice, “Copyright © 2006 - Editora Globo S.A. - Termos legais É proibida a reprodução do conteúdo desta página em qualquer meio de comunicação, eletrônico ou impresso, sem autorização escrita da Editora Globo S.A.” From what little I know of Portuguese this seems to say that copying the content of the page is forbidden without written consent. So apparently the image is copyrighted by Editora Globo S.A. rather than being in the public domain. --teb728 21:13, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Randall1big.jpg. The source page states, "© 2005 Discover Media LLC. All rights reserved. Reproduction in whole or in part without permission is prohibited." If you have somehow obtained an explicit free license for use of the image, you need to document that license with a copyright tag. --teb728 20:35, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Some editing guidelines

[edit]

Hi. I thought I would let you know about a few guidelines we use here at Wikipedia when we edit articles:

  • Please use an edit summary when making edits. This is useful for other editors to see at a glance what were the changes you made.
  • Please use the Preview button (right beside the Save Page button) when making changes, so that you don't have to make numerous minor edits one right after another. This keeps the history smaller and allows other editors to see more easily what changes you made.
  • If you make minor edits, please check the "Minor Edit" checkbox right above the Save Page button.

Thanks, and happy editing! Icemuon 17:04, 6 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

An editor has nominated List of people that mastered Calculus at an early age, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of people that mastered Calculus at an early age and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. • All the links you are adding are being removed - please stop:
  • I'm sorry - you seem to be ignoring my messages - I shall make this crystal clear and give you this informal final warning before you get the formal one. Please Stop adding links to google videos to tens of science articles - this is considered spamming - and you are linking to copyrighted material which is completely unacceptable. All the links you add are being immediately removed - you are not achiving anything - Please Stop or you will be blocked - it is that simple. SFC9394 20:39, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Blanking your user talk page isn't going to hide your warnings, we can always revert the page again. Stop adding video links, as per the warning given above. crazyviolinist 17:51, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
