Information icon Thank you for your contributions. Please remember to mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Joan Jett, as "minor" only if they truly are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Editing Joan Jett article

[edit]

Mr. Gabe Godin, you have not provided a reason for your deletion of a portion of the article on Joan Jett, except to say it was per the request of management. Since I don't know who management is, except perhaps related to Blackheart Records, which could be any individual, that argument does not impress me. I have posted the issue on the talk page of the Joan Jett wikipedia article, which is where it should have gone before arbitrarily excising a portion of the article. I am quite willing to reverse your edit again, despite your insistence that I should not edit the page again. However, I am willing to wait and see if you have a better argument, and to see what other people have to say on the issue. I don't own the article, you don't own the article, Blackheart Records does not own the article, and Joan Jett does not own the article, but I would give her arguments more weight. Mburrell (talk) 01:30, 24 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Mr. Gabe Godin, thank you for your rationale for deleting the Suzi Quatro segment of the article. I have posted in the talk section of the article that I am satisfied by your explanation, and due to your request to keep the reasoning within our discussion, I used generalities, a little substance, and vagueness for the reasoning why I accepted your argument.
I did go and reverse another of your changes in part, and gave my reasoning in the comment section of the edit, but I will reproduce it here for you. Keep in mind it was abbreviated to fit in the comment section. "Per RIAA 3 albums went gold, 2 went platinum, 3 albums total. ILR&R went Gold 4-12-82 & Plat 4-12-82. Album went Gold 8-23-83. Up Your Alley went Gold 9-28-88 & Plat 2-17-89. If others went gold, not in RIAA searchable database." Basically, I am saying that although there are 5 entries for albums in RIAA, only three albums have achieved gold and/or platinum, those albums being I Love Rock n' Roll, Album, and Up Your Alley. When you say five, I don't think you mean albums, I think you mean awards or milestones. Ms. Jett has been awarded 5 times by RIAA for sales achievement for her albums, and twice for one single. However the article states that three albums have been awarded platinum or gold, and I cannot find evidence of any other albums that RIAA have acknowledged as breaking 500,000 sales. To be a bit pedantic, the article does not claim RIAA, so it could be any country in the world acknowledging Gold or Platinum, but to increase the album count, it would have to be any additional album besides ILR&R, Album, or Up Your Alley. I have searched the databases for UK, Canada, Germany, and Australia and didn't find any listings for Ms. Jett, but I have no clue if any other countries might have high enough sales and a low enough barrier to cross into Gold. Abdul & Cleopatra moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Abdul & Cleopatra, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. A tag has been placed on Carianne Brinkman, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
