There were a lot of young teenagers that came together to make a change in their country. During voting season the youth demanded that their voices be heard and understood. Nearly half of the Haiti populations are under 18 years old. There was an interesting statement that was done by a 17 year old who was speaking in front of the UNICEF staffer. He stated “you all say that the children are the future- but we are the present. So it’s now that we have to act with you.” This is a very interesting point that goes straight to the point and makes others listen to what is really important.
