Information icon Hi Incognito Fedora! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Regarding the “New colors” edits

[edit]

They are made to change the color legend itself but not the image and I know this because of a certain user who made the template and told me. Happy editing! User:CycloneIns () 04:35, 11 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Timeline of the 2024 North Indian Ocean cyclone season, which you submitted to Articles for creation, has been created.

Congratulations, and thank you for helping expand the scope of Wikipedia! We hope you will continue making quality contributions.

The article has been assessed as Stub-Class, which is recorded on its talk page. It is commonplace for new articles to start out as stubs and then attain higher grades as they develop over time. You may like to take a look at the grading scheme to see how you can improve the article.

Re: Jelawat

[edit]

Hi there. Given the storm’s low intensity, I don’t think an article is required for the storm right away. Perhaps wait to see what the storm does before making an article. Hurricanehink mobile (talk) 05:58, 17 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

So for 1976, start with the season articles for each basin, for the total number of storms. The tricky part is going to be sourcing everything, especially if the articles haven’t been written to GA/FA standards. I like the effort of making some older “tropical cyclones in 19XX”, and they are all going to take a lot of time. For SWIO, check the same archive that’s used in seasons in the 1980s, where there is an archive going back to the 1960s. The JTWC will have a lot for the WPAC, at least for starters. The North Indian Ocean might be tricky. Start with the storms that cause the most damage and deaths, and then work your way down. Hurricanehink mobile (talk) 23:52, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. Thanks for the help! 🎩Incognito Fedora🎩 (talk) 00:10, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Of course. It’s not easy making these big articles. I’ve been doing a lot of articles like Weather of 2003. It takes a lot of time getting all of the details and referencing right. Hurricanehink mobile (talk) 03:38, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Could you review my current work on the draft? 🎩Incognito Fedora🎩 (talk) 04:32, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Lewis

[edit]

Hi NeoMadness, apologies for not getting back to you sooner but I can indeed point you in the direction of several sources for Lewis including the JTWC & Hong Kong Observatory. I would also strongly suggest that you take information from these two Tropical Cyclone Weekly Summaries that were written back in the day by a certain Jack Beven. I would also suggest that you consult IBTRACS, the Wikipedia Library and various news articles as you never quite know what you might find. Good luck and if you need any further help, please feel free to ask and I will get back to you as soon as I can.Jason Rees (talk) 19:49, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
