I would like to help nominate this article for DYK that you created. If you are not aware of DYK, its a process for placing newly developed articles on the main introduction page of wikipedia. I think this article appears to be perfect for this. Please let me know if you need help/ or have concerns with this. Ottawa4ever (talk) 13:43, 21 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the reply, Its pretty simple but the syntax gets a bit tricky (I can handle that for you if you like) but, the first thing is we'd post on Template talk:Did you know. We would need a 'hook' for the article. Basically something related to the article thats sourced and would get someone to read the article. Then other reviewers(editors) will review your article. If there is any criteria for DYK missing theyll mention that and we can adjust the nomination accordingly. I think the sources will have to be patched up a bit (formatting issues) before we nominate though (I can handle that). If youd like I can make the nomination on your behalf and supply the links as it goes, that way you can see the process. And for your next article you can go about the process yourself. Let me know if this is ok with you, and ill go ahead, otherwise its fairly straight forward on the page of what to do. Regardless of what you decide Ill patch up your references you supplied so they are formatted correctly, Happy editing Ottawa4ever (talk) 13:51, 22 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yep I can work the hook to be that. An easy way to see what im doing exactly link by link is to check the 'history' tab of your talk page, then youll see my user name with a link called 'contribs' then you can view each change as it goes in. Ill post the links to the pages(regardless) as we go and update you on the process. Ottawa4ever (talk) 14:04, 22 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Okay the page is formatted and nominated;[[1]]. Now we just have to check periodically and see if any concerns/improvements are made or suggested. Shouldnt be hard to fix if any are brought up. Really good article btw, I learned alot from it. The pictures of the twisted steel on the web are really fascinating from an engineering point of view. Will keep you posted. Ottawa4ever (talk) 15:18, 22 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Minor update, the page you created has been reviewed, looks like they think its okay to list. The day that its posted you'll get a orange box acknowledging your account that the article was displayed on DYK (main page). Ill try to check periodically back to at least give you a heads up on the time that will be, but as far as things seem the article is a go, congrats Ottawa4ever (talk) 08:33, 24 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Cheapside Street Whisky Bond Fire

[edit]
Updated DYK query On November 25, 2009, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Cheapside Street Whisky Bond Fire, which you created or substantially expanded. You are welcome to check how many hits your article got while on the front page (here's how) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Hi, Here is a heads-up of Martin Hogbin's attempt to add a request for arbitration (mentioning you), it did not work first time so he is seeking help here and referencing this proposed content.

Best wishes, FF-UK (talk) 15:53, 8 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for letting me know. I just can't get over how much time and effort we are all having to waste over this guy's insistence on making us all conform to his version of things. [redact] Anyways. we'll see how this goes. FDCWint (talk) 21:40, 8 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I'm a tad concerned about this external link being provided. It might be a brech of WP:OUTING. -- GoodDay (talk) 18:26, 9 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Noted. I have removed the content - although, clearly, given Wikipedia's model, that's largely academic. So, are you following FF, me or both then? ;) FDCWint (talk) 21:24, 9 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You are involved in a recently filed request for arbitration. Please review the request at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case#Infobox nationality of people from the UK and, if you wish to do so, enter your statement and any other material you wish to submit to the Arbitration Committee. Additionally, the following resources may be of use—

Arbitration case request declined

[edit]

You were named in a case request Infobox_nationality_of_people_from_the_UK which was declined by the Arbitration Committee. The committee concluded that one issue in the case was content, which is outside the remit of the committee, and the remaining behavioral issues should be handled by the usual processes. The arbitrators comments can be found at the Permalink to arbitrators decisions For the arbitration Committee --S Philbrick(Talk) 20:40, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
