Information icon Hello, I'm Waxworker. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Benkei, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Waxworker (talk) 13:50, 31 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Oh alright, I'll cite one. I felt like the part about the name was self-evident by pronunciation, so I didn't need a source, though if that's wrong I understand. Also, would it be alright if I cited a fan wiki? It has the best reference for the design I was referring to. Thanks! Emmaverick (talk) 13:59, 31 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Fan wikis are unreliable sources per WP:USERGENERATED and WP:FANDOM. Non-notable pop culture references shouldn't be added to the article, please see MOS:POPCULT. Waxworker (talk) 14:05, 31 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oh I wouldn't use it for information, just as a source for official artwork in a high resolution, since it's most accessible through that site. So for future reference with future edits elsewhere, do you know if that would be alright, or would I need to finish something elsewhere?
I'll just not add my edit, since it's moreso a trivial reference than anything. Thanks for the time and feedback though, I really appreciate it! Emmaverick (talk) 14:34, 31 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Official artwork with the character is a primary source and doesn't demonstrate notability - MOS:POPCULT states that "coverage in reliable secondary or tertiary sources" is necessary, and that "it should not be a source that merely mentions the subject's appearance". Yeah I know, I'm asking if in a case where I'm referring to an element of a design if it would be okay to use a fan upload of an official work to show that, since there might not be anywhere on the publicly available internet that has that image in high quality.
