Brian Lavery

[edit]

You have just removed my "Personal Life" information about Brian Lavery, which I find quite shockingly rude. There are quite a few people, those who admire Brian, who would like to know this extra information. If people like David Beckham are allowed this section, why isn't Brian? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.194.242.207 (talk) 15:01, 1 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't understand it mattered that much. I guess if people find it offensive just because there is a curse word in there it matters so much. Okay. I didn't realize all of a sudden everything mattered. Thank you for clarifying so quickly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.12.163.83 (talk) 01:32, 6 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Derivation of the main wave formula

[edit]

Dear ESkog, We are working on a project about waves for our university and found your formula on phase speed [1] We are really interested in the derivation of the formula and how the hyperbolic tangent is involved. Could you please send something to help us? :) Kind Regards,

Tim Puglia

Is ESkog racist?

[edit]

It seems you don't want minorities making edits on Wikipedia. Anything that makes a positive point about other cultures is taken down by you. Why?

Astrolabe

[edit]

Astrolabe does get its name from Mariam al-Asturlabi. She made sophisticated astrolabes in Arabia during the medieval ages. Orphaned non-free media (File:Allen Collins.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Allen Collins.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit]

I resent the implication that I am being somehow dishonest with regard to High Wycombe. High Wycombe is my home, and the home of London Wasps, yet you seem to know more about it than I do all the way from America! If I edited posts you made about the US of A I am quite sure you would be confused and offended, why then do you dispute my posts regarding HW? It is the former murder capital of the UK and is now the UK's second fattest locations. 188.223.8.135 (talk) 19:28, 7 February 2013 (UTC) 7 February 2013[reply]

[edit]

Yeah, OK. You were right to take down what I put. But the guy *is* self important and the story about his taking the mick out of a disabled kid at a party is true. I'm just sick of how everyone thinks it's OK for him to behave appallingly just because he can write. He is a nasty, nasty human being. I realise wikipedia isn't the place for me to attack him. On balance, however, he wrote the majority of his wikipedia page himself, so it's hardly trustworthy.

Edits to IWMS Page

We added a Vendors section to the IWMS page because we thought it was important to provide a list of known IWMS Vendors. Why did this edit/contribution get removed? It should not be removed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.226.44.42 (talk) 16:07, 7 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

My pictures

[edit]

Hi! I want to explain pictures that I uploaded. I uploaded three kind of images, first my own pictures that I take from footballers and actors and actresses. The second, I uploaded some pictures from fa.wikipedia that was uploaded many times ago and users in Persian wiki agreed those as free images. And third, I cropped some pictures uploaded in commons. I don't think uploading cropped pictures is banned in Wiki as I see other versions. Please stop deleting my free images but I think I have mistake about Zakani picture (is not free). Tabarez (talk) 18:46, 20 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Could you explain your closure here? You closed it as "delete all", but it seems that you kept one image. Something doesn't look correct here. --Stefan2 (talk) 13:26, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry i can't get you

[edit]

Hi, I have noticed you have mentioned something regarding my newly uploaded file, but i can't understand those. Can you explain what you said ?? Himanis Das   talk  17:10, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, ESkog
I just noticed you had marked File:VLC Media Player 2.0.6 main window in Windows 8.PNG for speedy deletion. However, I also noticed that the image in question is in fact of a free and open-source software. Thus, I fixed the license, marked the image for transfer to Wikimedia Commons and removed the speedy deletion tag. If you think I did anything wrong or had a question, I'd be more than glad to communicate.
Best regards,
Codename Lisa (talk) 17:26, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

One more PROBLEM.

[edit]

Hi,

Today i feel really happy for Codename Lisa works. But at that movement when she is editing my file, File:VLC Media Player 2.0.6 main window in Windows 8.PNG, MY BAD i had thought to remove Windows 8 tag entirely from that picture (as an user is complaining that Windows 8 is a non-free art) so i have uploaded, File:VLC Media Player 2.0.6 main window.PNG, As Codename Lisa fixed my problems in licensing, the 2nd image will remain unused (in my opinion it must be deleted). So, here i am requesting you to delete that image (if you are an administrator) or contact anyone to delete it.

Best regards  Himanis Das   talk  17:47, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

I got a notification saying that the file http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Iqbal_Suhail_Khan.jpg will be deleted. It has been taken from a family album and it can be freely used. I dont know much about licensing so can you help me out with it. The photo is a valuable one and if deleted will make the article incomplete.

beyhive ≈ juggalos

[edit]

i believe that the juggalos and the beyhive share many qualities (camaraderie, love, respect etc) within their respective communities, except the juggalos can be noted for wearing clown makeup. if you disagree, then i understand. i would just like a clearer explanation as to how their comparison isn't accurate. thank you. PS- can you please respond here, i don't have a talk page.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.15.23.118 (talk) 16:02, 22 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

RAMI model files deletions, or not

[edit]

Hi. I noticed that some of my pictures of RAMI files are deleted by yourself while others are not. Could you give me some rationale why the RAMI LaMarne Taxi would be kept (I've given my opinions/view on the page for that picture), while the RAMI Hautier Electric is deleted? Their content is essentially the same - a picture of a RAMI model car. As I've said often, the Commons has lots of pictures of car toys and models - why is Wikipedia local so different?--Cstevencampbell (talk) 16:49, 22 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

So how is this different from Wikipedia commons where diecast car photos exist by the hundreds? Also, you did not answer my question about why you deleted one (RAMI Hautier Electric) while others of the same brand and essentially the same presentation were kept (RAMI Marne Taxi). I'm having a hard time seeing a consistent policy being carried out. I'm not complaining, just trying to identify consistent policy. They both either were or were not OK.--Cstevencampbell (talk) 19:48, 22 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the discussion. I recreated the one file and put a stronger case on it's inclusion (it is also discussed more fully in the article) - but I'm not sure the rationale I chose was the right selection.--Cstevencampbell (talk) 20:28, 22 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

MOT flag

[edit]

This flag depiction is accurate and based on confirmed sources, so I'm at a loss as to why you want it deleted. --Expatkiwi (talk) 20:00, 22 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

RE:Please stop

[edit]

The discussion about it at Wikipedia:Files_for_deletion/2013_May_22 is not over yet. Wait for the conclusion before taking any actions. What you're doing now is simply a vandalism and you can be blocked for it either. (Pofka)

  • People like you wastes other people time because of nothing, instead of doing something REALLY USEFUL to the community. Since time is important for me, I'm not going to waste it anymore with you. Let's wait for the conclusion at the discussion page and then you will see that you were wrong. Good luck. (Pofka)

Transnistria

[edit]

The non-UN member unrecognized state Pridnestrovie is named with politicians from Moldova and Romania disrespectfully with a Holocaust name as Transnistria (it is a contemptuously term[2], [3]).

November 29, 2000 in accordance with the recommendations of the UN by former President PMR - Smirnov issued a decree № 591 "On the transliteration and place names", according to which the name of the Transnistria in the Latin alphabet was established as Pridnestrovskaia Moldavskaia Respublica (Pridnestrovie).

PRB, a financial representative of the TMR on the international scene has caused a stir. Its programmers have invented the three names of the republic: Trans-Dniester Moldavian Republic (TMR), Pridnestrovskaya Moldavskaya Respublica (PMR), Moldova (Transdniestria). The coloring of the PRB and the Foreign Ministry website PMR added illiterate contraction of the words "street" and "city", ie «Ul» instead of «str», and «g» instead of «town».

06.04.2012 was repealed it Decree and in accordance with Art. 65 of the Constitution of Pridnestpovian Moldavian Republic new president Shevchuk signed a decree number 252, which recognized only the official name of the PMR in English - Pridnestpovian Moldavian Republic (Pridnestrovie)[4].
