Copyvio

[edit]

I've deleted the article. The problem with taking material from another source (copyvio) is that first off, the person has to give up all rights to the material as fair use via WP:ORTS. This doesn't entirely solve the problem and even if there's a fair use/ORTS tag on the article, it will likely continue to get tagged with copyvio speedies until the material is rewritten. However the bigger problem with taking things from another website is that in 99.9% of the cases we see, the content taken is written in a neutral and non-encyclopedic manner. From what I've read of the content, the material would need to be re-written in order to flow better and to read more like a Wikipedia article than a personal resume or website. Even if you give up all rights to the content, it still needs to be re-written because the material will likely not pass the basic expectations and because you'll likely get so much grief over the article that it would just be easier and quicker to re-write it all and skip past any copyvio concerns. I can't stress this enough because it's much easier to just re-write the material than to try to fight to keep a cut/paste from another website because there will always be some sort of issue with the source material you're using.

That said, I'd also like you to look over our conflict of interest policy at WP:COI. Having a COI doesn't mean that you can't edit, just that you need to be very, very careful and follow our guidelines more closely than even the most seasoned editor. I would also recommend that you get someone from one of the various WikiProjects to help you with editing to ensure neutrality and proper sourcing per WP:NPOV and WP:RS. Hello DrSoulis. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Stefanadis Christodoulos".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13, or 2) copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Draft:Stefanadis Christodoulos}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, and click "Save page". An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot (talk) 00:01, 23 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
