@Difbobatl, that source is a dismissal of a case from the AG of Kansas. Just today, KS Gov. Sam Brownback maintained that the state is not recognizing marriages yet. http://www.kansas.com/news/politics-government/article26045212.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by Awyow (talkcontribs) 17:14, 2 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Difbobatl Someone changed the map before I had the chance. I have viewed your source, but I highly expect Prcc27 to revert it. I expect this because the article refers only to announcement of a future executive order. I would argue that the color should be light blue, unless sources state that licenses are currently available in the USVI. Prcc27 will likely change it back to light red, because there is no mention of a date where the supposed order would take effect. Thanks, -Awyow — Preceding unsigned comment added by Awyow (talkcontribs) 01:24, 2 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Changes to Dublin Airport: you have changed "one of the ..." about the PreClearance. The original document said: "outside North America" and you change that in "Ireland". And then you say: there are numerous..... most of them in Canada.

If you can only refer to preclearance in Canada the original text was exactly correct: Canada is North America. However if you can mention this service in other countries then Canada the your edit is correct: can you mention one or a few preclearance airports OUTSIDE Canada?

Thanks, Jan

hmmm... The preclearance page does mention Aruba and a couple other islands, but I don't know if that is also considered North America... There is talk of other countries being added, so if it is changed back to North America someone would need to keep a watch on it...

Template:Same-sex unions

[edit]

I feel you are being disruptive at Template:Same-sex unions. You are ignoring reliable sources which indicate same-sex marriage is not available currently in all jurisdictions in the United States, with some states waiting for pending legal actions and ignoring consensus. AusLondonder (talk) 02:27, 2 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

SSM IS LEGAL in US. I do not believe there is consensus for the vague terminology Prcc27 has been proposing. Difbobatl (talk) 02:29, 2 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

There is a difference between the de jure status and the de facto status of same-sex marriage, especially when it is not being performed or recognised by some states pending further legal matters AusLondonder (talk) 02:48, 2 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It is now being performed in all states, and will be in all territories (with the possible exception of American Samoa). There is a temporary technical question about recognition that has not been part of the accepted template for the majority of the time since Obergefell. It is also problematic that it is vague, changes, and has almost no real effect. Difbobatl (talk) 02:51, 2 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Same-sex marriage in the United States

[edit]

Your removal of the U.S. same-sex marriage map was uncalled for. You need to wait for the RfC to be closed before removing the map. You can go to an admin and request that they close the RfC here. Prcc27 (talk) 22:01, 3 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Prcc27 - Thank you for the link. I do feel that you are showing ownership, and should let someone else "defend" the page if you feel that there is consensus for your view. Evidence suggests otherwise... Difbobatl (talk) 22:04, 3 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Dear sirs/mesdames, As the person who suggested an Rfc, I have to say that while I do indeed agree with removal, consensus for removal, ownership by Prcc, and that administrators are not necessarily needed to close an Rfc, it has indeed been less than 24 hours for the RfC... on a holiday weekend. Since it is in place, I do think we do need to be fair and give a little more time for people to have a chance to comment. Give it a couple of more days and hopefully consensus will be clear by then and any appropriate changes can then be made. As you may have seen I am no longer regularly active on WP and I hope I am not overstepping. I apologize if my words are not in keeping with current standard practice. I take back that we should wait. The cheese stands alone, with nothing of merit to say. There is indeed clear, overwhelming consensus. I looked forward to seeing the map change, but it no longer serves that purpose. Things have changed, big time. It's over, done, finito. The end has come for the map.
