Your BRFA

Hi DatGuy, your recent BRFA, task 11 has been approved. Best regards, — xaosflux Talk 23:38, 7 June 2022 (UTC)

New function?

Please see Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)#New Pages count MB 15:04, 26 May 2022 (UTC)

Sure. Give me a week. Dat GuyTalkContribs 18:52, 26 May 2022 (UTC)
@MB: what statistics should the bot fetch? Dat GuyTalkContribs 15:54, 27 May 2022 (UTC)
Certainly the count (of unreviewed articles) is the most important, to be able to judge the size of the backlog. The reviewed count could be useful too as it shows the number of reviews done it the past week. MB 16:00, 27 May 2022 (UTC)
@MB: the bot will now update User:DatBot/newpagesbacklog, and you can fetch data from it. Are you good with templates? Dat GuyTalkContribs 21:16, 8 June 2022 (UTC)
I'm a novice with template, mostly minor changes. I could probably copy {{Pending Changes backlog}} and get something working, but if you are willing, you could probably do it much faster. MB 21:33, 8 June 2022 (UTC)
I created Template:NPP backlog, and a TP to discuss implementation. MB 21:48, 8 June 2022 (UTC)
Sadly I'm also not very good with templates, but that looks good for a start. One difference from PCB to note is that the signature and timestamp being separate fields. DatBot also updates a weekly_reviewed field which can be used in the template if you'd like. DatGuyTalkContribs 13:59, 9 June 2022 (UTC)
OK, I'll find someone else to improve it from here. I don't want to use the number of reviews yet because it includes redirects while the backlog number doesn't (apples/oranges). I opened a Phab ticket to try to get better counts and if that ever gets done, the bot can grab all four numbers and then we will display them all. Thanks for yours help. About a half-dozen people have added this template to their User Page already. MB 14:47, 9 June 2022 (UTC)
