Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Information icon Hello, I'm Egsan Bacon. I noticed that you recently removed content from French Communist Party without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Shiromani Akali Dal. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Dhruv edits (talk) 13:56, 23 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Next Delhi Legislative Assembly election, you may be blocked from editing. Dhruv edits (talk) 13:57, 23 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

On sourcing and fact checking

[edit]

Hi. i'd ask that you be more cautious with adding random materials to infoboxes, and try to adhere to WP:RS, WP:OR. In this edit, there are the following errors,

  • the name Bam Morcha (now corrected it seems, but pretty indicative that this is not a topic that you are very familiar with)
  • LF doesn't have a logo. The CPI(M) election symbol is not the LF symbol
  • LF was not a merger of two fronts
  • LF does not have individual membership
  • The position of Lok Sabha leader isn't "vacant". LF has no Lok Sabha faction. Arguably has no Rajya Sabha faction either.
  • LF isn't a member of INDIA (although its constituent parties are). SDA is a bit more complex case.
  • CPI(ML) Liberation, SUCI(C) and RJD are not and never were LF members
  • Website link leads nowhere, website last updated in 2012

-- Soman (talk) 10:43, 21 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed them. RJD and SP were LF all. RJD in 2016. Commie Eagle (talk) 10:46, 21 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No harm in adding LF LS leader post is vacant Commie Eagle (talk) 10:47, 21 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
'Ally' and 'member' are not synonymous. My point is, you need to be much more cautious about making statements as fact when you are just making broad guesses. --Soman (talk) 10:49, 21 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Left Front members are in INDIA. Commie Eagle (talk) 10:52, 21 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have removed some datas. Commie Eagle (talk) 10:52, 21 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
On Maha Vikas Aghadi, from where do you pull the idea that MVA would have been a merger of UPA and LDF? It seems you are just making stuff up. --Soman (talk) 11:24, 21 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
On Left Front (West Bengal) edit summary you state, "Left Front is merger of two fronts. See history". Where is the history is this factoid mentioned? --Soman (talk) 11:25, 21 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
1971 CPI(M) lead United Left Front Commie Eagle (talk) 11:33, 21 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
And six years later CPI(M) led the LF. That doesn't make LF a merger of 2 fronts (which would have been the second front?, it would take two to tango). On the contrary, as is stated in the LF article "However, ahead of the March 1977 Lok Sabha election the left parties under the leadership of CPI(M) decided to form an alliance just amongst themselves, based on past negative experiences in collaboration with centrist anti-Congress forces." --Soman (talk) 11:47, 21 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What about the present logo? Commie Eagle (talk) 10:06, 22 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The fact that you'd even think that it would be a good idea to invent a logo yourself, and place it on Commons, is indicative that it is difficult to find any way forward here. I suggest, for the sake of all of us, that you pause the current editing drive, read up on Wikipedia policies and guidelines and fully adhere to WP:V-WP:OR before beginning to edit again. --Soman (talk) 13:15, 22 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The logo is in CPI(M), West Bengal website. Commie Eagle (talk) 16:48, 22 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Where on the CPI(M) WB website? And if it is from CPI(M) website, why did you write "Source Own work Author Commie Eagle" when uploading the file on Commons? --Soman (talk) 21:03, 22 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've already filed a SPI about this editor, who has the same pattern of poorly sourced edits to various left-of-center parties/elections as a sockpuppet with at least three blocks already. This includes restoring reverted edits made by the most recent sock, Mam_Bong_Tm that were made right before they were blocked (and this account created). Unfortunately, SPI is very backed up at the moment, so this may be a difficult area to edit right now. CoffeeCrumbs (talk) 13:59, 21 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Blocked as a sockpuppet

[edit]
