Information icon Please be careful about what you say to people. Some remarks, such as your addition to User:GB fan can easily be misinterpreted, or viewed as harassment. Wikipedia is a supportive environment, where contributors should feel comfortable and safe while editing. If another user has blanked their own user page, that is their prerogative. DO NOT MESS WITH OTHER'S USER PAGES. Ok? Zinnober9 (talk) 05:42, 5 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Misread situation, so striking above message. see my response below. Zinnober9 (talk) 17:35, 6 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings @Zinnober9 Thank you very much indeed for your feedback which has been gratefully received. You are absolutely right and to return the favour may I suggest that you refrain from using capital letters as this can be interpreted as "shouting" and thus harassment? We are all here to learn and support. Thank you Cleverboy inn (talk) 06:37, 5 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Zinnober9, this is inappropriate. If you had read the template you'd left before you left it, it would be been fairly obvious it didn't apply. In fact, it really should have been fairly obvious from the edit summary ("Moreover, the topic is already covered under Restorative Justice") that this was a mistake edit, and that there was absolutely no reason to bite this particular newbie by shouting. Really, don't do that. @Cleverboy inn, thank you for not taking that personally. Just so you know, the "PROD" (proposed deletion) process is meant to be an "unless anyone objects" process. In other words, you can propose any article be deleted at any time, but at soon as one editor objects, that's the end of the proposal and the article needs to go through our formal deletion discussion process. So this edit, insofar as it replaced the PROD template, was a procedurally wrong edit. Alyo (chat·edits) 14:25, 6 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I really appreciate this @Alyo. I have learned not to take matters personally especially when I am on a journey to learn. This requires perseverance but also good will from everyone. Your words mean a lot as I was feeling that I could volunteer elsewhere but I will stick with it for now. Much appreciated Cleverboy inn (talk) 14:39, 6 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Certainly, feel free to leave my a message on my talk page if I can help with anything else. Alyo (chat·edits) 14:43, 6 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Alyo It was not intended to be shouting, as most of my additional message was not capitalized. Only that short, key statement was capitalized, and was intended for emphasis. Sorry it was mistaken for shouting. The situation had looked on initial read as though CI had been contradicting/picking a edit fight with GB fan and had blanked GB's user page out of spite of GB reverting CI's article PROD nomination. On further review, I believe your take on the situation is correct and I misread the situation. @Cleverboy inn While the general idea of "don't edit other people's user pages" stands, my warning above is no longer warranted, and I'm sorry for misreading the confusing situation. Zinnober9 (talk) 17:32, 6 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Completely understand, and I'm glad we've all been able to handle this so well :) Alyo (chat·edits) 13:05, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Likewise, thank you both for the constructive discussion. Cleverboy inn (talk) 12:21, 9 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
