Behavior in article talk pages

[edit]

Greetings. I've closed your thread at Talk:Death of a Nation (2018 film). Talk pages are places to propose ways to improve an article, not just complain about what you see as an article's failings. A good rule of thumb is given at Wikipedia:Consensus, which says to limit article talk page discussions to discussion of sources, article focus, and policy. See Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines for more information. Thank you. —Sangdeboeuf (talk) 07:56, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It’s always refreshing to see editors continually embracing the true spirit of Wikipedia: focusing exclusively on how to tweak narratives in the most approved manner. After all, discussing the merits of different perspectives or questioning the 'status quo' can be such a distraction from goals of harmonizing content to fit a universally pushed viewpoint. Thank you so much for keeping the discussions on message. ChonokisFigueroa (talk) 01:00, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You misunderstand. There is no "message". Anyone who has participated in any of the many lengthy discussions on various controversial topics knows that there is no "universally pushed viewpoint" either. Talk pages are for improving the encyclopedia, as I have already stated. They are not a platform for unrestricted speech. If your goal is to question the "status quo", you may want to consider starting a blog instead. —Sangdeboeuf (talk) 11:52, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
