License tagging for Image:Bretplaque.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Bretplaque.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 22:06, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

Non-free use disputed for Image:E.Town ConcreteThe Renaissance.jpg

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:E.Town ConcreteThe Renaissance.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:12, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Bagwellinjury.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Bagwellinjury.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 01:15, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

Fair use disputed for Image:Darsow.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Darsow.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:09, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:7UpSpots.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:7UpSpots.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. From the Editor

Welcome to the inaugural edition of the WikiProject Professional wrestling newsletter! I hope this will be a good source of news to those people interested in what's happening around our pro wrestlimg community. I plan to release it every Sunday.

This newsletter will just be a way to get the community announcements to people who don't have the time to check the mesageboards, as well that to those just curious about the news. The newsleter will consist of a project news section (to do with what's happening on Wikipedia), and a current events section (relating to news in the "real world"). The newslette will also contain the Collaboration of the Week announcement.

That's all. If you have any feedback or suggestions, please post them at this talk page.

ThunderCats (film)

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article ThunderCats (film), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of ThunderCats (film). Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:POD Alive.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 18:37, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for creating the song pages for some of P.O.D.'s singles. You think you can also help out with the other singles that need to be created? I would really appreciate it. Quetzal123 (talk) 01:09, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

Well "Boom" has been featured on television many times and it is the theme song for WWE Saturday Night's Main Event. Plus both "Boom" and "Alive" have been played in stadiums as a sports anthem. Quetzal123 (talk) 18:38, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
I think they did make an article for Alive before, but it was redirected to the Satellite album article. You think we should add the awards some of the songs won because if you look at the main article I left a list of awards they have won. Quetzal123 (talk) 03:34, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks. I would like to expand the mainstream success some more though, like put more information on what made them successful you know other things that might help the article get good article status. Quetzal123 (talk) 05:07, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Days of the New (2008 album)

An editor has nominated Days of the New (2008 album), an article which you have created or worked on, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Days of the New (2008 album) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 18:00, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Cabot Creamery edits

I had been monitoring the recent edits for possible vandalism or otherwise bad edits, and after a brief read, it just seemed like it was either subtle vandalism (adding lots of detail and even a reference) or just non-notable. I now see that it definitely isn't anything like vandalism, but I still have questions to its inclusion in an encyclopedia. "Beer", "Cheddar Hunks", and other words raised red flags immediately, so I reverted your edits. After further review, I would guess that what you added basically is true, but I still don't think it's appropriate for the article. According to Wikipedia's rules, the threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth. The reference is not an appropriate reference, and without an appropriate reference, it should be considered unverified. Blogs like the one you used as a reference can only be used when the blog is produced by an established expert on the topic of the article whose work in the relevant field has previously been published by reliable third-party publications. SugarAndLard.com does not appear to be an written by a published advertising expert. But even if it were, I don't think that every commercial by a company should be included in its article on Wikipedia. It's just not encyclopedic. Is there a buzz in radio and newspapers about the ads? Are they controversial or groundbreaking? In some situations, iconic advertising campaigns, like Apple's iPod advertising, are notable enough for inclusion in Wikipedia. But as you can see, that has been referenced and parodied in popular culture. Once that happens to the Cabot Creamery ads, feel free to include it. But until then, I don't think the information belongs on Wikipedia. --Muéro(talk/c) 05:14, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

I have rolled back an edit you made to the above page, as it seems to use quite POV language; quite probably some of the information is valuable, but using words like well infamous, notorious &c., is not really. Thanks for uploading Image:FoodFighters.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Seven Mary Three

Awesome work with all the new Seven Mary Three additions to the site. I've been working too to get complete stuff about them on the Wikipedia. Do you visit the 7M3.com site and message board? If not, we'd love to have you there to talk about such a great band. And have you seen a recent show by the band? Such amazing performances. Talk to you later. --Mtjaws (talk) 15:22, 13 September 2008 (UTC)

Thanks you too for the additions you've made too. As for song pages, I would say "Lucky" is the other most popular song that might warrant its own page. I would never object to more though! Definitely seek out the other albums cuz they are so varied in sound. A few newest songs can be heard at dayandnightdriving.net too. Also, there are tons of live recordings that fans on the message board would be happy to share. Come on by and say hi. And there's even a show in Peoria on Oct 3 if you are anywhere close, or want to drive! (If you couldn't tell, they are my very favorite band, and I'm always looking to spread the good word and get them new fans!) --Mtjaws (talk) 22:46, 13 September 2008 (UTC)

Hello,

RE your edits of the Bret Hart page, you had no right to edit the lead. The vandalism yes, good spot. But the lead should have remained untouched. I see you are a big wrestling fan, however my problem with wrestling fans on this board are they can be less objective than normal editors (i.e. admins) in trying to make the pages of wrestlers etc look pretty, as if it were an official WWE bio etc. The fact that the Bloodstained Memoirs story is all across the media at the moment for controversial reasons, makes it worthy to go in the lead, as well Wrestling with Shadows, this is something Hart crossed over into general media with. Therefore I will be putting it back. If you undo this edit, I will just take it straight to the admins where it will go into administration and out of both of our hands. But be warned, editors can loses certain privalidges if such were to happen for no reason. Keep in mind I have warned you of this if you choose to edit. This is probably just an oversight anyway, you seem to be a good poster. Thank You. Commoncase (talk) 19:03, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

Re: Question about Cameras

I am so sorry that I missed your question so long ago. I rarely sign in any more, opting instead to do a lot of my work anonymously. But!, here I am now.

Unfortunately, though, I am not sure that I am qualified to suggest a camera for you. I do almost all of my work in traditional, 35mm film, using SLR cameras, not digital point-and-shoot.
If I were to make a recommendation, though, I would say that Sony makes the best digital point-and-shoot I have ever used, in their Cybershot DSC line. I have used a DSC-W5 for three years now, and it’s as good as it was the day I got it.
For a more advanced camera than the W5, the Cybershot DSC-H50 is an option for you. It costs something around $400, and is a pretty sturdy, advanced camera for it’s price and category.

I have not been able to find any cameras that meet your desire for manual control of focus, but there are a good many that allow for manual exposure control, and offer a good deal of the sort of micro-management you might be interested in. If you are willing to shift your price ceiling up a bit, then Canon’s Rebel XS SLR might interest you. Great for an affordable introduction to SLR cameras, the price tag is only $600, with lenses, from B&H. This camera would definately conform to all of your desired specifications, and many more; I doubt you would be displeased with it.
Also optional, the Nikon D40, which is effectively comparable in both price and features, and Sony has a new A-200, which costs just $500. I haven’t tried it out yet, though, so I won’t laud it now. I’m sure it performs just fine, though.

But…if you need any other advice, or if I wasn’t thorough, please drop me another message. I will be sure to check back more often now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Joe5150 (talkcontribs) 01:12, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

Home Improvement

I removed your addition about the series end of Home Improvement. You did not provide any source stating what you added. Your only source was to another Wikipedia page. This is not even permitted. If you do find a source in another Wikipedia page, source what is sourced at that page, not the Wikipedia page itself. This does not matter though as there was nothing about the end of the Home Improvement series on that page. JeremyWJ (talk) 02:01, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

I have nominated Cartoon violence, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cartoon violence. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

WikiProject Professional wrestling newsletter message

It has recently been brought to the attention of WP:PW that the newsletter is being to delivered to several users who have not been actively editing for several months. As a result, their talk pages have become increasingly large, unmanageable and slow to load due to a lack of archiving.
In response, this message is being sent to all editors listed in Category:WikiProject Professional wrestling participants to say that anyone who does not list their name at Wikipedia:WikiProject Professional wrestling/Newsletter/Active before May 16 will be automatically listed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Professional wrestling/Newsletter/Nospam, and will no longer receive the newsletter or any notification of it. If you are added to Wikipedia:WikiProject Professional wrestling/Newsletter/Nospam, please feel free to remove your name if you desire.
If you wish to continue receiving the newsletter as normal, please add your name to Wikipedia:WikiProject Professional wrestling/Newsletter/Active. If you simply wish to receive notification of a new issue, but not have the full newsletter delivered to your talk page, please add your name to the notification only list.
If you have any queries please contact me at my talk page or leave a message at WT:PW. Thank you for your co-operation. ♥NiciVampireHeart00:36, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Calmer Waters 09:23, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
