Resolutions

Thanks :). Nice to know we can agree on points relating things within the RfC even if we don't necessarily agree on the main RfC itself. Ironholds (talk) 00:28, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

Agreed. :-)... We are neighbors.--Buster7 (talk) 04:45, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

Interesting: it appears that at last the RfC/U may have prompted a major change in its subject's activities and conduct. Just check the recent edits in his contributions log. I'm not cynical enough to interpret this sudden rash of anodyne edits as a quick way to get all the RfC stuff off the first page of the log... :~) Today's "wikibreak" edits already tally 100+... :~) Writegeist (talk) 18:53, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

Dragons at large!

I just discovered WP:WikiDragon. These dragons don't need lances. Loved your poem and hope you are well. Alastair Haines (talk) 08:00, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

I hope there was no misunderstanding between us. I hate ketsup on hot dogs!Steve Dufour (talk) 16:45, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

No...No...Not at all....I live in Chgo and it really IS a big deal re:ketchup on a hot dog. Maybe not an arrestable offense but perhaps a serious lecture by one of Chicago Finest! Just had a revert war about cucumbers which is also a no-no but the other editor doesn't know any better and maybe is confused about what a pickle is. (You can never tell about those transplants!).....--Buster7 (talk) 00:14, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
Ah! Wiki debate at its most serious best. :) Alastair Haines (talk) 02:01, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

ThankSpam

My RfA

Thank you for participating in my "RecFA", which passed with a final tally of 153/39/22. There were issues raised regarding my adminship that I intend to cogitate upon, but I am grateful for the very many supportive comments I received and for the efforts of certain editors (Ceoil, Noroton and Lar especially) in responding to some issues. I wish to note how humbled I was when I read Buster7's support comment, although a fair majority gave me great pleasure. I would also note those whose opposes or neutral were based in process concerns and who otherwise commented kindly in regard to my record.
I recognise that the process itself was unusual, and the format was generally considered questionable - and I accept that I was mistaken in my perception of how it would be received - but I am particularly grateful for those whose opposes and neutrals were based in perceptions of how I was not performing to the standards expected of an administrator. As much as the support I received, those comments are hopefully going to allow me to be a better contributor to the project. Thank you. Very much. LessHeard vanU (talk) 15:58, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

Well, back to the office it is...

Thanks for the Veteran's Day shot

Thanks mate! Next round is on me! :) Alastair Haines (talk) 00:15, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

Thanks!

Thanks for the drink, same to you. -- Joshdboz (talk) 14:45, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

Thanks from me also

Really appreciate you taking the time to give me some pointers. On reflection, I perhaps should have investigated a little more before making edits, but live and learn. Thanks for the link, I'll begin there.Pantwearingdoom (talk) 09:21, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

Barnstar

The Friendship Barnstar
For your most excellent efforts in friendship towards your fellow Wikipedians, User:Ched Davis would like to award you the Barnstar of Friendship.
  • (note: This is the very first, and original, "Friendship Barnstar" to be awarded)

Hey Buster, haven't talked to you for a while. Hope life is treating you well. Actually I wanted to do this a long time ago, but didn't have the skills at that time to code something, and there wasn't one like this at WP:BARNSTAR. I really appreciate how you are willing to stand up for your fellow wikipedians (that coin thing a while back), and how you go out of your way to offer encouragement and friendship to us all. It's appreciated. ;) — Ched :  ?  14:11, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

RE: Hey Buster, hope you're well. Hey, I may not edit in a lot of the places you do, but I do come across a thread from time to time, and the way you stick your own neck out, demanding fair treatment of those who may be in a minority position, and asking that they be treat, as you say "A guest in your home", truly inspires me. Even if I don't stop by "your house" very often, I know I'm always welcome, and that's a warm feeling indeed. I'll long remember the extended hand you offered when I was feeling down. Your integrity is a benchmark others would be well advised to aspire to. I just wanted you to know that. ;) — Ched :  ?  21:32, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

edit counter

For Investigative Use Only;

Wannabe Kate's counter stopped working last January. I would recommend replacement with User:Soxred93's very nice Edit Counter here. Any other suggestions are welcome, too. --Buster7 (talk) 21:17, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
I think Soxred93 is probably the best, but wikichecker has a different look and a couple extra functions too. — Ched :  ?  21:37, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Buster7/MCWFTF, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Comment

Looks to me like Buster dropped a link into a new page in his user space, which now doesn't point anywhere.

It could be that Buster would like this page deleted for the sake of tidiness, so thanks for promptly offering this.

However, I'm a little curious about external initiatives regarding what users organize within their own user spaces.

I'm removing the tag.

John, if convenient for you, could you please give Buster a link to a tag that allows him to self-nominate for deletion any pages in his user space that he no longer requires.

PS woops, looks like I was too slow. Will act faster next time. Buster, please inform me of your opinion regarding the action above. Alastair Haines (talk) 02:49, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

Smiling right back

Go Buster! Nice and important article, I'll be watching and helping if I can. Alastair Haines (talk) 04:23, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
