Welcome

[edit]

Hey Bristlefrost! I noticed that you joined WikiProject Warriors and wanted to say welcome!

You seem to have found your way around fine, but I just wanted to say that we do have a contributing to Wikipedia page.

It's so awesome that there are other Warriors fans here; do you have any specific plans to create or expand any articles on Warriors books? Rusty 🐈 16:12, 6 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Rusty!
I was exploring around and decided to join a WikiProject about my favourite book series (my name everywhere even outside Wikipedia should tell that).
I don't yet have any specific articles in mind. I already looked at the Warriors template that shows all of the books. However, I read the early arcs years ago and I'm currently on Ivypool's Heart (the latest book that came out on 3 September) with Star (due to release on 5 November) pre-ordered and the newer arcs don't seem to have articles at all. I can't remember the older arcs as well so I'd prefer to write about the newer ones (especially TBC, it's my favourite if you couldn't already tell by my name).
I could of course create those pages but I once saw on wctwt (where I am under the handle @_Bristlefrost) a screenshot from years ago that showed that the longest article on this entire site was List of Warriors characters. Its edit history now seems to be just people adding things like pelt descriptions and such and then someone else removing them as "unnecessary fancruft" and protecting the page. Therefore I've been hesitant to really create or edit Warriors pages over fears of upsetting someone else who doesn't want to see more Warriors on Wikipedia and removes it as fancruft. In my opinion fancruft shouldn't even really be a policy, it's just a personal preference thing how many Warriors topics you want to write about so long as they're all accurate according to the books and have sources mentioned. But it's still a policy and I have no clue how to propose scrapping it for good or get around it. Bristlefrost1 ❄️ (meow | patrols) 16:53, 6 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, one could probably create the pages for the newer books without it being marked as fancruft... my guess is that the people that are interested in Warriors here on Wikipedia are different than they are, say, 10 years ago--I haven't looked in to it, but it's possible that those people were more into creating articles (which, by the way, isn't really my thing.)
I think that articles for Into the Wild and The Prophecies Begin are perhaps a decent example of what an article for a book/arc should look like.
Also, (completely irrelevant to Wikipedia) I looked at your website and realized we might know each other from the Littlecloud bot Discord server. Rusty 🐈 21:51, 6 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I could create articles for the rest of the Warriors books that don’t yet have them, using the two examples you provided as a base.
Indeed, I am on Discord where my name is bristlefrost._ and I do use the Littlecloud bot (currently at 89/100 Bristlefrosts collected). I’m very active there and pinging me on Discord is a much faster way to reach me than my talk page. Bristlefrost1 ❄️ (meow | patrols) 06:51, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
