Edit warring

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Problem of time. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. - DVdm (talk) 22:27, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@DVdm so why is the provably wrong information being privileged? Warn the idiot who keeps changing it back. The site says anyone can edit, and I did. Unlike the other person, I am correct and the existing citations prove it. Bjngobkngo (talk) 17:29, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Bjngobkngo: The person "who keeps changing it back" is me, and I am not an idiot. Calling people names is not tolerated here — see our policy page wp:No personal attacks. Try not to call people idiots. That will result in you getting wp:blocked altogether. Yes, anyone can edit, except those who don't follow the policies, they lose the privilege to edit.
The sentence that you try to remove is literally present in the cited source. If the claim is wrong, then the source must be worthless and thus also removed. If you think that this is indeed the case, then you must go to the article talk page and discuss with the other editors whether the stuff should indeed be removed from Wikipedia. WIkipedia is a collaborative environment. Someone must have had a reason to bring along this content and its source. We can't just go about throwing away the content but keeping the supporting source sitting there. Just go the bottom of the article talk page Talk:Problem of time, and explain what you propose to do. Then other contributors can chime in and collaborate. - DVdm (talk) 18:32, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
