Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Gdeydogon, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Seeking the Splah, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may not be retained.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{help me}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Crow Caw 00:10, 26 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Seeking the Splah requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about something invented/coined/discovered by the article's creator or someone they know personally, and it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. When I type my name and the title of my article it showed that I was once apart of wikipedia and that now it has been removed. I DO NOT WANT MY SEARCHABLE NAME AND ARTICLE ASSOCIATED WITH THE GOOGLE SEARCH ENGINE IN THIS MANNER!!!!!!!!! PLEASE REMOVE THIS IMMEDIATE SO THAT I CAN DEACTIVATE THIS ACCOUNT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How to "deactivate" your account

[edit]

The closest option we have can be found at WP:VANISH. The account will be renamed to something like "Vanished User #431," and you will be expected to log out of the account and never log back in.

However, throwing tantrums will discourage the stewards from renaming your account. Wikipedia has no control over Google. Google will eventually update their servers, but you'll have to wait a little bit. Posting your demands over and over is only going to make Google keep tracking your name.

Your best course of action is to stop posting "deactivate this account," and follow the instructions at WP:VANISH. Ian.thomson (talk) 01:45, 26 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

All you have to do is go to Special:GlobalRenameRequest, give "request to vanish" as your reason, and request that your username be changed to "Renamed user (10 random characters)." Ian.thomson (talk) 01:49, 26 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

ok. I understand that and I am not trying to be rude. You all are telling me what to do but it is not working on my end. My name is associated with something negative and it not fair. If you would, can you please just have the stewards to correct this for me. I am not a bad guy. This vanishish process is not working for me. I would really appreciate it.

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. I am glad to see that you are discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as WP:Help Desk are for discussion related to improving the article, not general discussion about the topic or unrelated topics. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. Much of your post to the Help Desk has been collapsed because it had the nature of a rant. Robert McClenon (talk) 02:30, 26 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

yeah I hear you. But this process is not clear. I am not ranting but when you type my name into google it says: "Made up by article creator or an associate, and no indication of importance/significance." That is not fair to me. I have been reading and trying to vanish and delete my account but to no avail. I just do not want my name and article associated with Wikepedia. I really dont and it seams as though I dont have they power to change that? I wish i never signed up. ..smh. When you type in my NAME and title it has negative feedback--saying that my work has no importance or significance and that it not cool. Thank you for your response. Is there customer service? Can i speak to another human?

Gdeydogon (talk) 03:27, 26 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

There are no customers, so there is no customer service. It's all volunteer work and you have been speaking with other humans.
How did the instructions given for vanishing not work? What did you do and what specifically happened? Ian.thomson (talk) 03:47, 26 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ian! thanks for responding. Do you understand what I am saying? Will Wikipedia take down the post? When you type my name or the article of the title, is stills shows up as a wikipedia item. Will you guys break this chain? I do not want to be associated with Wikipedia like that saying my work was not of importance of significance. It says the vanishing just changes the users name? IF i do the vanishing process, will my name and articel title vanish from search engines as well. How can we get our entire involvement deleted? If I vanish things, will I be able to assure that it will know long show up associated with wikapedia?
