I will be undoing some of these changes again. We always report the numbers as released to media. This is often MWDC - there is no uniform conversion factor for MWAC and so supplying it without an actual source is "original research". Also it puts some on an even playing field as most international source announce the most impressive numbers. Rmhermen (talk) 04:14, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Forward Wind Energy Center, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Moratorium (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:01, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Nevada power station colors

[edit]

Hi brc, the diagram wheel you added on List of power stations in Nevada is a welcome addition. However, I would like the colors to better correlate with each power source. Coal is usually black, solar is yellow or orange, hydro is blue etc.

Each state power station list seems to have its own color scheme. A systematic approach would be preferable, but that is a bigger discussion. TGCP (talk) 13:15, 29 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

List of power stations in Michigan

[edit]

Quick question, how is it that coal increased and natural gas decreased in percentage mix for Michigan's energy mix when coal power plants have been shutting down left and right? --Criticalthinker (talk) 10:11, 3 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Fuel statistics in the previous article version were for August 2020 only. New version has full-year stats for 2019, since those average the fuel mix over a yearly cycle and allow for a better comparison with other U.S. states. EIA will publish the 2020 full-year stats by about Oct 2021. The EIA data for Michigan (see first reference in article) does show the overall strong decline in coal and rise in natural gas in recent years. The monthly figures can fluctuate more since one or two large facilities may go offline temporarily for scheduled maintenance. Cheers. Thanks for your work on power stations -- what's your source?

[edit]

I've been trying to track down a source to confirm that the "Aberdeen CT" power plant in South Dakota runs on natural gas, and I noticed that you added that claim (in this edit) -- do you remember where you sourced it from? JesseW, the juggling janitor 03:00, 20 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, looks like it is the EIA, here (indirectly)? https://www.eia.gov/electricity/data/eia860/ -- JesseW, the juggling janitor 03:09, 20 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, data on capacities, fuel type, opening date, prime mover, and more for each facility is sourced from the *Generator*.xlsx' spreadsheet in the Form EIA-860 zip archive.Bikesrcool (talk) 05:10, 20 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
