Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Randall, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you! -- Stjep (talk) 09:20, 21 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thx for your post, sadly the sandbox and welcome page both did not help in this case, although everyone is welcome to edit my talk page, you should at least know which template you use; just spamming vandalism templates as much as possible is the wrong way I think; plz stop copy-pasting some templates when you have no idea which one to use and try to help - maybe share your knowledge - thank you! otherwise we have to think only you may decide which content is worth to be on wikipedia and which is not.

Logos

[edit]

Hey, team logos are only used in their articles. So no need to add them to the current bundesliga season or so, see: here. Kante4 (talk) 15:35, 16 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination for deletion of Template:Banner

My intention is to build a free banner/logo template system like the country flag one but for all the other images which do not fit there. With easy syntax which will overcome the bad filenames on wikimedia like: My-first-Picture.svg - And the main sport tables would look awesome with then easy to paste, use and alter team banner pictures because of the team data templates (eg german wikipedia uses team banner pictures on score tables but without template system ... so most of the files have bad non standard file names which are a pain to use) Berni2k (talk) 16:35, 16 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It seems that you have misunderstood the advice of another editor and have moved several of the pages to you personal space instead of doing a copy & paste; the TfD tags were removed in the process too. Doing so means that the redirects left behind would make anyone able to use the old links on articles to the same effect.
Before you start working on them again, I would like to advise you again that any copyright images under fair use, including but not limited to football crests, should not be included in any page outside the main club article infobox. This applies not just to association football, but also to all other sports. Things may be different in de.wikipedia but this is a strict policy on en.wikipedia and offenders may be blocked for violating it. Thank you. LRD 00:15, 18 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I have restored the TfD pages at their original links so they won't redirect to your user space anymore. In future, please copy & paste the content to your sandbox or user space instead of moving them, creating a redirect in the process. TfD tags should not be removed without good reason but we'll assume good faith here. LRD 01:31, 18 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

1st I moved the Team data templates with the common wikimedia file links in them and wanted to delete them afterwards but I was not allowed to do so (missing rights for my own files ...). And instead of removing the redirect from the original locations you restored them omg, you are really a strange man, instead of helping you work against me, bravo.
2nd as I was not allowed to delete my pages in their original location I recreated all 3 files in question linked in them by myself as crappy as possible so there no more 3rd party banners linked anymore, I created them in an open source svg editor I found on google code, go check it, and released them free, public, whatever you want so you are maybe finally happy
3rd yes I removed the for deletion template code from them because I wanted to work with them in my user space, I just learned about user spaces and did not know they are there before today, but with users like you around here who more work against and never help I lost any motivation ... Berni2k (talk) 04:16, 18 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have only restored the versions at their respective TfD pages, removing the redirects in the process. It means that those that you have moved into your personal user pages were left untouched and would not be affected by any page deletions. That, in fact, makes me help you instead of working against you. The templates are listed for deletion for good reason, and you were informed per protocol and have the right to make your defence of keeping them at the TfD listed above. As mentioned, the problem is not with any coding, but with violation of the fair use policy pertaining to copyrighted images. I do not see how those templates might improve any articles at this point in time, and you might make them work and are welcome to spend time on them. I just feel you should consider the strict policy regarding copyright content and the consequences surrounding it before you proceed to spend valuable time on them. LRD 04:52, 18 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
As mentioned by User:PeeJay2K3, those logos are not free and may not be used without a Fair Use rationale, especially not in userspace pages. Thank you. LRD 05:20, 18 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

They are long gone, you will find new ones I created by my own so crappy no one would ever complain, I only needed something to test my banner templates with, but feel free to put them up for deletion too you will find them under the same username on common wikimedia, cc-free, public domain, if you have further questions I left a detailed post on the templates for deletion page Berni2k (talk) 05:33, 18 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You are taking this personally instead of understanding the rationale behind the TfD process. This is all based on wikipedia policy with legal consideration and as such, the community takes a very serious view on copyrighted images. It has nothing to do with my personal POV and any editor would have prevented those images from use outside of their main article, and that extends to user space. That's why the general consensus on the TfD is that those templates should be deleted. LRD 05:45, 18 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

you say this image is protected: File:Werder Bremen Banner.svg
and I say it is not ... mostly because I created it and released it on wikimedia ccfree and under public domain and it does not look even close to the original

And what do you eventually hope to achieve from this? Fix up the coding, make them aesthetically-pleasing but ultimately those templates can't be used in mainspace? I won't stop you from spending your time as long as you don't violate the copyright policy, which you should be well aware of by now. LRD 06:05, 18 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

no help again, just destruction, there was no point table before I created it and as they need other colors I had to create a color template for them too Berni2k (talk) 04:21, 18 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

As above. You may copy & paste them into your user space, just not via page moves as they will leave redirects. LRD 04:52, 18 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have no idea why you destroyed this table too, it is useful for others just not for you again, so I put it up here Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Football#ResultsBerni2k (talk) 06:37, 18 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The four nominations have been removed from TfD since they do not fall under copyvios. LRD 06:55, 18 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
