• BY Sharon McGowan O 16:38, 3 JAN 2019 SHOWBIZ Gaybo also recalled the moment RTE producer Tom McGrath came to him with the idea for the Late Late Show. He said: “Tom had been working for a Canadian television station and had seen The Tonight Show in the States and wanted to produce something similar in Ireland. “Initially it was to be a summer filler, and he wanted me to present it. I accepted it and it first aired on July 6, 1962, and it was detested by everyone! The viewers thought they were turning into a variety show like they would see in the local parish hall and they hated the idea of a talk show. But eventually the tide turned. 138212091369

You were kind enough to thank me for furnishing a source in April 2021.
I have since completed my submission on Tom McGrath. I posted it in January of this year but I am still awaiting progress;
If you have the time to look at it and access it for me I would be most grateful. Baile Atha Cliathach (talk) 15:32, 16 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi BAC - I was reviewing Tom McGrath (producer) and it needs a photo to improve the article. If you could upload a photo, preferably one you took yourself, it would be great. Sarah777 (talk) 09:30, 26 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I have started the process of getting a suitable photo and I hope to have one available without too much delay. Baile Atha Cliathach (talk) 10:09, 26 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
