John you can find some of the information at the template page Template:International median household income, where you will find working links.

The other information that you have requested certainly exists, but for many OECD countries it may never be made available to the public. The problem is that countries will often go through periods where the real household incomes are declining, see median household income. This can cause people to become very grumpy. For example last month in France there was wide-spread protests and strikes. Those protesting were chanting "purchasing power", to let their leaders know that they were angry that their incomes were not growing as fast as their cost of living. In response President Sarkozy has made a commitment to improve purchasing power [1].

Most EU countries have had economic troubles since 1990, so they will be especially sensitive about releasing the information in an unmanipulated form. Even in the United States median household income data can cause political trouble if real incomes are dropping. Badenoch (talk) 10:35, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notice on OR concerns

[edit]

I still have concerns about original research in some of the articles you've contributed to. See WP:NORN#Articles by User talk:Badenoch. Since you seem to believe that my personal interests may cloud my judgment on this matter, I decided to ask a wider audience to see if there may in fact be issues with your contributions that need resolution. I've asked for community-wide comments on Brain drain only (not any other articles) on WP:RFC/ECON. (PS: apparently this thing is partially ran by a bot so it may take a while to show up on WP:RFC/ECON. Sorry for any confusion if it's not there.) Kelvinc (talk) 11:52, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
