Thanks for uploading Image:Manualsnott.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me or ask for help at Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. Thank you. -- Carnildo 12:50, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image Tagging Image:Tohji-132.jpg

[edit]
Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Tohji-132.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Image legality questions page. Thank you. ReyBrujo 13:11, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Ghostbusters

[edit]

Why did you change the format? Was there something wrong with the previous versian? Just wondering... TBC??? ??? ??? 15:46, 19 April 2006 (UTC) No, I just liked the look of thios one better. Seemed smoother and less bluky. Nothing really wrong with the old you. But this is wikipedia and you can change it back at any time, just search for "Template:Ghostbusters" and use the history. Rodger Bumpass

[edit]

Sorry! I had to get rid of your edits because the other user put in a lie, Rodger Bumpass is not dead nor is he in the hospital, there is no online article saying that Rodger Bumpass is dead nor in the hospital. He is alive and well. I hope you get this message. Thank You.--Stco23 19:38, 26 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Somebody has been putting in nonsense in Rodger Bumpass again, but by a different user. I am change it back to the way it was before. I am sorry that i am going to revert your edit because of this. 58.108.63.208 changed Rodger Bumpass birth date from 1938 to 1959. IMDB.com has the correct birth date. This user has also put nonsense on Scott Menville so he is a vandal. Next time you better check on the internet to see if the information is true before you edit, that way it can better help you find a vandal. Anytime you want to ask me a question, just go to my talk page. Thank You.--Stco23 04:10, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hammeler

[edit]

user:Hammeler has been putting wrong information about Rodger Bumpass. He first put in (He was involed with the Rodger Bumpass scandal), and then he put in that Rodger Bumpass was in the hospital, and finally he put in that he was dead. He has been warned about putting nonsense, and putting in nonsense is vandalism. If you see nonsense by this user, Have him reported. He is vandalzing Wikipedia. Thank You.--Stco23 22:52, 26 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image Tagging for Image:EWJsuitskipping.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:EWJsuitskipping.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

The A-kon 17 "report"

[edit]

As entertaining as that was, it's a bit biased, and one of Wikipedia's main guidelines is to have fair, balanced articles. I also suspect that when you said "many" were outraged/annoyed/had already bought glowsticks, you meant yourself, your friends, and any people nearby you happened to overhear or talk to. So maybe 10 or 15 at the most for some examples. I've left it in the article for now (though with the typos and some of the hyperbole edited), but someone else may come along and be well within their rights to edit it down or even delete it altogether. Just something to keep in mind. Wikipedia isn't your blog.

Also, was this your first A-kon? Because these problems are not new. Maybe they were at their worst this time, but this has been going on for years now. Frecklegirl 05:23, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I notice you messaged me about the A-kon article. Well I jsut wanted to let you know that I was not the one to add the section about A-kon 17. I mearly edited it to make it less biased. It was posted by a user before me. I am aware of the rules and guillines of Wikipedia. I have attended several A-kons, but was unable to attend 17, so I could not fix the article probperly. If you have any questions, let me know. (Animedude 09:39, 19 June 2006 (UTC))[reply]

Michael Myers

[edit]
(This topic wouldn't have been suitable for that talk page) He isn't literally pushing 50. Remember, film timelines don't always coincide with reality. In his fictional universe he's currently still lik 41 years old. And as long as he's in good shape, he's fine, plus in his fictional universe he's got abnormal strenght, endurance, durability and will power. Bignole 10:20, 23 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I noticed that you nominated the above category for merging earlier today, but you did not finish off the nomination. Please see Wikipedia:Categories for discussion#How to use this page for details on how to complete the listing. Then you can give your reason for the nomination. (P.S. I also notice that you created Category:Fictional adoptees this morning, and I believe nominating Category:Adopted fictional characters for renaming would have been more appropriate than creating a new category first.) — AnemoneProjectors (talk) 15:15, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, guy

[edit]

Hey. Sorry to be the barer of bad news, but Category:Resurrected fictional characters, like Category:Fictional resurrected characters before it, was deleted for a reason. It will only be deleted again, I am afraid. A censensus was reacted and I know one admin willing to keep this category down. I'll submit the category for speedy deletion with a request for protection from recreation or something. ACS (Wikipedian); Talk to the Ace. See what I've edited. 07:31, 7 October 2006 (UTC) Mind telling me why? Wikipedia is pretty picky about this kinda stuff, yet flagarent in other areas. I mean there is a category for gay fictional characters, yet not one for straight ones. Anyway, since these pagese were deleted I cant see WHY they were on their talk pages. Homosexuality in Modern Japan

[edit]

You didn't make it clear whether you wanted citations to prove that Japan is more accomedating than the US, or if the US is less accomodating than Japan, so I've added two citations explaining the low level of prejudice in Japan in historical context. Both are WP:V and WP:RS books available through Amazon.

I felt that you're exact question ("is this true for the countries culture or just in their entertainment?") didn't need answering with a citation as a country's entertainment is a product of its culture. For example American parents would riot if Mickey Mouse and Goofy kissed passionately on screen, which is why it wouldn't happen, but things like that happen every day in Anime and Manga (see shonen ai). Anyway addressing wider comparative culture is outside of the scope of the article.

Advocacy

[edit]

Hi, I'm David, from the Association of Members' Advocates, and I've agreed to help you with your problem. As I see it, your objectives are probably twofold: firstly, to achieve the merging of The Punisher (arcade game) into Punisher computer and video games, a reasonable enough goal on its face, since virtually all of the information in the first article is duplicated in the main one, and secondly to stop HanzoHattori's campaign of incivility against you. Now, the actions I propose to take on these issues are:

I hope all this sounds reasonable. If not, please do let me know. David Mestel(Talk) 18:06, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Weirdalclassic.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Weirdalclassic.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Why did you remove the content on male glasses-wearers that females find moe? Men aren't the only otaku out there, and with series like Angelique, Ouran High School Host Club and La Corda D'Oro all having aired this year, attention is being shed on female moe. Don't act like, to quote a popular Internet meme, "there are no girls on the internet". Sana Jisushi 04:53, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I beg to differ with the reply you posted on my talk page. The male megane-zokusei is no more "something some girls made up" than the female. As I said before, attention is being brought to women as reverse-harems and bishounen anime are gaining popularity, and as stated in the article, there are in fact distinct archetypes. The sinister senpai and the pure-hearted weak boy are just as recognizable as the powerful īnchō and the nervous weak girl. In short, the megane-kun thing does belong in the article! Sana Jisushi 21:14, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's happening again. Place your vote/comment on the respective talk page for which name Wikipedia should use; a censored name, or an orignal name. Power level (Dragon Ball) 15:16, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Would you prefer to discuss this privately?/Would you mind if we discuss this on your talk page?

  • What outcome did you expect to obtain by requesting an Advocate?
  • What outcome do you think would be best for you? Would this be the best outcome for Wikipedia as a whole?
  • How important is this issue to you? How important do you believe this issue is to the community and to Wikipedia?
  • What do you feel caused this problem, and is there anything you could have done to avoid it?
  • Do you think it might help to take a break while we attempt to resolve this?

Orphaned fair use image (Image:EWJeviljim.JPG)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:EWJeviljim.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Dragonball Wiki

[edit]
  • Hi there. I noticed you're fan of the Dragon Ball series, and I'm trying to recruit some fans from here to contribute to the Dragon Ball Wiki. It's in terrible shape right now with pretty much no consistency or policies, and only this week have I been able to get Angela and Sannse to create some Forums for us over there. I've got a proposed Manual of Style going over there and would like some people to contribute to that to set up some policies and start making the wiki bigger, better, and more intelligible/consistent. If you're interested, please hop on over or talk to me. Thanks for the time, whether you're interested or not. Wildyoda 08:40, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, just FYI, I was the "wise guy" who "screwed" with the article. As you are no doubt aware, you can change anything on Wikipedia. If you don't like something, change it but please don't criticise others. Remember to be civil. Mallanox 07:26, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Daywalker

[edit]

I've nominated Daywalker, an article you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that Daywalker satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion; I have explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Daywalker and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Daywalker during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Slimer2.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. (ESkog)(Talk) 13:35, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Manualcrow.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Manualcrow.jpg. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 18:47, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Weirdalclassic.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Weirdalclassic.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Speedy deletion of Narutard

[edit]

Please do not make personal attacks. Wikipedia has a strict policy against personal attacks. Attack pages and images are not tolerated by Wikipedia and are speedily deleted. Users who continue to create or repost such pages and images in violation of our biographies of living persons policy will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Thank you.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Proposed deletion of Butt stomp

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Butt stomp, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Hi Animedude360: Sorry to trouble you, but I could not help but notice your expression of affection for TOS on the Wikipedians who like Star Trek: The Original Series page, and so I would be curious of your thoughts on the notability of a Star Trek author for whom I just created a Wikipedia article -- which may be promptly destined for the trash pile. As a newcomer here at Wikipedia, my first article attempt was indeed recommended for deletion within hours of its creation by a senior user named JzG who seems to me to be overly hostile and dismissive of Star Trek, calling it fancruft (= trivial, obscure, of importance to just a tiny group of fanatics) . Since you are a Trek fan, if it is also your good faith opinion that my subject is in no way deserving of an article on this site; and you could let me know, I would feel much more comfortable with the justice of the pending deletion action. My proposed article may be seen here, assuming you visit the page soon enough ... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerald_Gurian Kind Regards. Tosresearcher (talk) 05:07, 7 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
