Faroes qualifying for Euro 2008

[edit]

Hi Aheyfromhome!

Probably I made a mistake but I can't find it:

Let's assume that Faroes win all the five remaining matches against France (would have 15 points then), Scotland (12), Italy (13), Lithuania (7) and Ukraine (12). They had 15 points then.

Let France win all its remaining matches against Georgia (6), Lithuania (7), Scotland (12), Italy (13) and Ukraine (12). They had 30 points then and were clear leaders of the group.

Let then Georgia win its matches against Scotland (12), Ukraine (12) and Italy (13). They had 15 points, too. Let them furthermore lose against Lithuania which had 10 points then.

Now let Lithuania who have 10 points now win against Italy (13) and draw against Scotland (13 now) und Ukraine (13 now). Lithuania had 15 points then, too.

And now let the other three remaining matches Italy-Scotland, Italy-Ukraine and Scotland-Ukraine be draws, too. Then these three teams had 15 points, too.

Now all six teams except France had 15 points in that group, so the matches among them would count but as those aren't over yet one cannot state (from my probably mathematically wrong point of view) that Faroes are out (mathematically, of course!).

I would be very thankful if you could review my calculations and tell me the mistake I made.

Greetings. --EBB 16:28, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You're right. It's probably not difficult to see when you're told the answer. Thanks a lot for your kind reply. --EBB 19:31, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

EURO 2008

[edit]

HI AHEYFROMHOME, THIS IS VASCO AMARAL FROM PORTUGAL, GREETINGS!!!

Regarding PORTUGAL-POLAND's qualifier, i guess it should count as a proper goal, and so KRYZNOWEK should have 4 goals on the scorer's list. I screwed a bit on that one! Could be a sport and revert the graphic back to the original please? I MISSED SOMETHING WHILE TRYING TO REARRANGE IT BACK, DON'T KNOW WHAT!!!

Thank you in advance, have a good week!!! SEE YOU AROUND,--217.129.67.28 20:51, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Can you really not see the thick green lines between 3rd and 4th place on the group tables? What browser are you using? (This may sound rude, it's not meant to be...) - MTC 15:19, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

League of Wales 2007-08

[edit]

Please can you tell me where you have had results for the league of Wales after 5th April 2008. I hope you haven't altered the table due to predictions this is the latest http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/league_of_wales/results/default.stm

Yeah, I've had a look at the 2006/07 season, you have done a good job. I had a look earlier and I have sorted the Cwmbran template, so that should be no problem now. I think the table looks okay to be honest, so I don't think you need to change it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Onshore (talkcontribs) 01:02, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bayern Munich

[edit]

At this very moment, Bayern Munich can't finish any worse then 3rd making Borussia Dortmund a UEFA Cup entrant. Kingjeff (talk) 22:15, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think the difference is The FA decided that the winner of the League Cup should get an entry into the UEFA Cup taking away a league entry. Associations 1-6, which includes England and Germany, each have 3 teams qualify. This would give England 1 spot from the Premier League, 1 spot from The FA Cup and 1 Spot from the League Cup. Kingjeff (talk) 22:34, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bayern Munich are mathematically in at least in the 3rd Qualifying Round. Kingjeff (talk) 19:31, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

UEFA Cup entrants

[edit]

The SFA are changing it anyway, so from next season cup winner's or losing finalist's will not be entered into the UEFA Cup. The fourth placed team will be entered instead. Darryl.matheson (talk) 23:17, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Soccernet vs. BBC

[edit]

I don't think BBC is any more reputable then Soccernet. Is it just because BBC is British? Kingjeff (talk) 00:47, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Inter-Wiki idea

[edit]

I was wondering if you noticed my Inter-Wiki idea that I left on this season's and next season's article talk pages for UEFA Champions League and UEFA Cup. Kingjeff (talk) 15:58, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm trying now to turn it into a WikiProject. You can go here if you are interested. Kingjeff (talk) 21:50, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How about we try my idea for the first leg of the first round of the UEFA Intertoto Cup? Kingjeff (talk) 23:38, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
