Bio

I was born in Santa Ana, California, but I live in Washington State. I enjoy going out with my family, and friends we go hiking, bowling, skating, to the movies, and even just hanging out at home. My family is everything to me. I'm currently attending college, and plan on becoming an MA. Being the first to graduate from high school in my family, and going to college is a huge accomplishment already, but I want to make them proud by having a firm career.

I have never been on this side of Wikipedia where you can edit and make changes to certain pages. I'm interested in being a part of such a huge source to many people around the world. This is a fine way to contribute to society in a positive way, I think. I hope in the future when I do know more about Wikipedia to become a positive user, and be able to give others quality information that could be very useful.

Article Review

I started listening to Marcos music about three years ago. I knew nothing about him, so I searched in him up, and on Wikipedia there wasn't much about him. Only that he was from Anaheim, California, we had the same birthday, and that was shot twice and once stabbed. I visited the Phora page on Wikipedia again, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: its lack of detail, lack of citations, and it is not fully up to date either.

Lack of detail

Although Phoras page does contain the most main aspects of his life, I feel it lacks many other important issues he's had earlier. In his 'early life' section the fact that he started singing when he was about 17 years old I would say is worth mentioning. As well as adding on how his father was put in jail and his mother struggled with house bills, work, and her alcoholic boyfriend that only beat Marco (Phora) and his mom. Also in 'musical style' it doesn't mention how all the things he saw and went through at home with his mom and moms boyfriend influenced him to write his music as well. Not just graffiti as mentioned. When he was shot he went through a very intense depression phase, he never left his house after that. He locked himself up in his room only thinking about suicide. The only thing he had to help him was music, and through his music he tells his story. How he has survived through so much, and how strong he his to have survived not one, but two shootings, and once almost being stabbed to death. Going through all of this at such an early age is a huge influence on his musical style.

Citations

This article has very little to no citations. It does have a couple of references, but no citations that help the reader know if this article is trustworthy or not. I would definitely go ahead and add more citations to this article. They are useful to the reader, with no citation there's always going to be a little lack of confidence with the articles truthfulness.

Up to date?

Everything besides one thing seems to be up to date. His break up with his girlfriend did go public and all. They were apart for a couple months, but they recently just got back together a couple weeks before his 2018 tour started. Which was expected since they have been together for about six or seven years now. This is not mentioned in his article, but it should be because she is also a big part of his life as well as a huge musical influence.

Summary

All in all this article needs more working on, but it does a good job in having all of his albums, singles, etc up to date and it also does well in mentioning a very important part in his life, which was when he almost lost his life not once, not twice, but three times in his short twenty-four years of age. It needs more detail on his early life and his musical style, who, what influenced him to start with his career. All of that detail would help the reader grasp a better sense of who he is. As well as what he feels his purpose in life is.
