Sumoflam is the online nickname for David Kravetz, a freelance web designer, photographer, travel blogger, travelographer, author, videographer and Japanese interpreter/translator.
David Kravetz, 61, resides in Lexington, KY and is the owner and creative mind behind Sumoflam Productions [1], where he works with dotcoms, writes blogs and does nature photography. In his spare time, he is a freelance travelographer and photojournalist and focuses on the normal, the wacky, the wonderful and the quirky things of this wide world.
His most popular blog is his Less Beaten Paths blog [2] which has over 300 posts about offbeat and back roads travel. His blog looks at the fun, unique, quirky places found on the back roads of America as well the beauty of the country. He has traveled hundreds of thousands of miles into all 50 states in the United States. Kravetz has also been to six Canadian provinces, numerous places in Mexico, lived in Japan for six years and worked in the Philippines and Canada.
In 2017 David self-published his first book titled Less Beaten Paths of America: Unique Town Names [3] and is currently working on his second book titled Less Beaten Paths of America: Quirky and Offbeat Roadside Attractions which will be self-published in 2018.
He also offers a Photo site that features many of his best nature photography photos. This site can be seen at [4]. You can also see thousands of his trip photos on his Sumoflam SmugMug site [5]. His photos have been used in advertising, newspapers and even on a couple of magazine covers.
Over the years David has worked as the webmaster, media manager, part time videographer and photographer, as well as logistics manager for singer/songwriter/author/artist Antsy McClain [6].
Sumoflam, as he is known to thousands of friends around the US and other parts of the world, has a passion for traveling and has been to all 50 of the states in the United States, as well as five provinces in Canada, numerous states in Mexico, the Philippines, China and Korea. He lived in Japan for 6 years and is fluent in Japanese.
He is the father of five and has TEN grandchildren who call him Grampz. He has been married to his lovely wife Julianne for more than 38 years. He will admit that he truly Married Up!!
