The impact of South Sudan’s continued prolonged conflicts has devastated the country’s infrastructures, this further gave birth to displacement and creating a hostile environment forcing millions to seek refuge in the neighboring countries this is still continuing due to the periodically sliding conflicts.

Civil conflicts in South Sudan have generated a vicious circle of suffering resulting into a traumatized lost generation who have no experience of a kind of effective direction triggered by poor access to basic social services. Most victims of the war amongst others are the youth, women, children and the elderly. Who either have been forced into refugee camps, Displacement (IDPs) camps or live in the society in deplorable traumatic conditions TERM is a brain child of South Sudanese indigenous professionals with vast experience in humanitarian and voluntary work serving the population of South Sudan. It was form to engage and contribute in alleviating people’s suffering through provision of humanitarian support, contribution to development and capacity building with action research which is based on participatory approach by all the levels of the community on their priorities for the future. We also aim to tackle the humanitarian crisis including natural and man-made disaster prevention and develop community basic social Services needed and initiate employment opportunities and income generation projects for the Youth, Women, IDPs and poor rural/host communities to reduce the level of poverty and contribute to national Development Goals.

TERM is a non-political, non-profit organization formed on the background to respond to needs of Displaced persons, refugees and returnees to help and ensure such affected group of people get access to dignified basic services through provision of humanitarian support so as to alleviate further suffering.

TERM is managed by independent non-partisan professionals who have a wealth/extensive experience practically & technically on various fields of humanitarian sectors and community development projects as they have had vast work experience working in various sectors of humanitarian interventions, Human rights, child protection and capacity building programs. As professionals on humanitarian sectors and capacity building, they felt that there is an argent need for interventions and they had the ability to access the grass roots and act as a bridge between the suffering and desperate local communities and the UN agencies, International organizations, well-wishers and charities that are willing to help people. This was the philosophy behind the establishment of TERM
