L.C. Ekanayake
Lional Chandra Ekanayake was a prominent volleyball player who represented the Sri Lankan national squad for more than a decade. He received an award for being the fastest attacker in Southeast Asia. He was born and raised in a small country village named Naula in Matale District.
Ekanayakaya joined the Sri Lanka Army soon after finishing his secondary education and starting his sporting career. His emerging talent in the sport gave him the opportunity to represent the Sri Lanka Army volleyball team, leading to his selection for the Sri Lankan national squad.
Throughout his athletic career, Ekanayake was able to leave his mark in Southeast Asia and bring home a number of significant victories.
Later, he was appointed to the position of chairman of the board of selectors for the Sri Lanka women's volleyball team.
