Suggestions for organizing your userspace

[edit]

Hi again, Phil.

I see that you're creating a lot of drafts, all directly under your primary userpage. I suggest you create Table_of_contents of sorts to organize your drafts. I put mine in my sandbox. To create a new page, I just go to edit, copy-and-paste [[User:Doctree/sandbox and then type in the name I want followed by the closing two brackets. When I save it, a WP:REDLINK is created. Click on a Redlink and a page will open with cautions about creating a new article and a blank workspace. As soon as you put something into the space and save it, it will be a blue link. You could create a subpage User:PhilPsych/mydrafts rather than using your sandbox. More about userpages at WP:USERPAGE. Your username will become blue if you put something in your main userspace.

If you ever lose a draft (and you probably will if you edit a lot), go to the very top of any page in your userspace and click on 'Contributions'. At the very bottom of the page that opens, you will see your username on the left followed by a colon and 'Subpages'. Left-click on 'Subpages' and you will see all of your subpages, possibly some that you didn't know existed. If you want to see mine, go to my userpage and click on 'User contributions' under 'Tools' in the navigation bar on the far left of the page (or just click on the upside down Cont in my signature). Note that anybody who knows Wikipedia can do the same on your pages so...

You may want the draft that was indexed by Google to go away rather than stay as a blank page. Anybody who's really knowledgeable can still find your subpages but they will have to work a bit harder. Put {{Db-self}} at the top of that page and an administrator will delete the page for you. Once done, only other administrators can see what was there in the history files.

Hope this is helpful. Take care, DocTree (ʞlɐʇ·ʇuoɔ) Join WER 23:13, 8 November 2014 (UTC) Thank you Doctree for the welcome and the tips.PhilPsych (talk) 03:26, 9 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Peter Fonagy

[edit]

Hi, this is just to let you know that I did some work on the Peter Fonagy article, which you contributed to. Mainly standardizing the reference format. If you have time maybe you could check it to see if I messed anything up. Also, about the Goethe Award, if you want you can just go ahead and move your draft to Goethe Award for Psychoanalytic and Psychodynamic Scholarship in the main article space, just as it is. It doesn't have all the information that Cullen and I wanted, but neither of us would oppose it. It does have the public information that is available, and it's not like Wikipedia has too many articles on psychology. So I don't really see turning away a high-quality article like this one just because of technicalities. – Margin1522 (talk) 20:02, 17 November 2014 (UTC) That is so helpful. I will definitely check over the Fonagy article references. I saw the reference problem but was not confident to fix it up on my own, but am very pleased to check over what you have done. Thanks also for your advice on the Goethe Award. PhilPsych (talk) 20:45, 17 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Section on Psychoanalytic and Psychodynamic Psychology, Canadian Psychological Association, a page you created, has not been edited in 6 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:36, 16 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, PhilPsych. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Section on Psychoanalytic and Psychodynamic Psychology".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13, or 2) copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Draft:Section on Psychoanalytic and Psychodynamic Psychology, Canadian Psychological Association}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, and click "Save page". An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 13:58, 26 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
