Fishy username

Hi,

This username looks a bit fishy. Do you reckon this is WP:999-worthy? Adam9007 (talk) 01:34, 1 September 2017 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) @Adam9007: Nihilism is not necessarily suicidal ideation. General Ization Talk 01:36, 1 September 2017 (UTC)
Hi Adam9007! Sorry for the delay getting back to you - did you get your question answered? ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 23:15, 18 September 2017 (UTC)
I'm not actually sure . It may not necessarily be suicidal ideation, but that doesn't mean it cannot be. Adam9007 (talk) 03:28, 19 September 2017 (UTC)
Adam9007 - I say report it. If you even question whether or not something is a threat of harm, we should report it. We're not trained or certified to make the determination as to whether or not a threat is real or valid; we should report all instances and let the emergency team handle it. That being said, I don't see it like a direct and unambiguous threat, but that is irrelevant. It should be reported; it's the right thing to do. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 03:41, 19 September 2017 (UTC)
Is it still worth it, given that it was nearly 3 weeks ago? Adam9007 (talk) 03:59, 19 September 2017 (UTC)
Why not? I'd do it. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 04:19, 19 September 2017 (UTC)
Thanks. It's way past my bedtime here anyway : nearly 5:30 in the morning (under normal circumstances, I'd be asleep and unaware of this conversation, so wouldn't be able to do anything). Adam9007 (talk) 04:23, 19 September 2017 (UTC)

Microextrusion

Dear Oswah, I was the first to write about Microextrusion on wikipedia, but after sometime, everythin I wrote has been cancelled redirecting on metal the target of the technology. The term Microextrusion is used by Gimac sinc early '80s for describing a process able to process polymer with no degradation of microstructural properties. What do you suggest to do...? Actually the page doesn't have anymore the images that I put even if they were fully authorised and some literature references has been cancelled even if globally recognised... Looking fwd to hear back from you. 5.170.19.7 (talk) 20:19, 1 September 2017 (UTC)

Hi there! You could try contacting the editors who made the changes that concern you. Additionally, you should start a discussion on the article's talk page regarding your concerns. Make sure to let those who are directly involved know about the discussion so that they can participate. This is part of proper dispute resolution; definitely make sure to read up on it and let me know if you have any questions. Good luck, and happy editing! :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 15:03, 18 September 2017 (UTC)

Just got a message about my "editing" of Melbourne Chess Club.

Sorry I have no idea how I did this as I was on a holiday during this period of time wikipedia only just alerted me of this however so is there any way I can restore my changes? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.101.188.6 (talkcontribs)

Hi there! I'm a bit confused, because you first state that you how no idea how you did this, but are then asking about how you can restore your changes. The page I was referring to was Talk:Melbourne Chess Club, which was deleted due to being a talk page of a non-existent page. The article itself (Melbourne Chess Club) was deleted as a result of this discussion at Wikipedia's articles for deletion process. I highly recommend that you read and understand this process, as it will answer your questions and explain the process, what editors look for when discussing the deletion of an article, as well as how to proceed from here after a decision is made to delete the article. If you have questions about it, let me know. Happy editing! :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 15:11, 18 September 2017 (UTC)

Sockpuppet case against 118 alex

Hi Oshwah A sockpuppet investigation has been opened against 118 alex again. The crucial evidence lies in the 1 you deleted at 05:22 today. This is to inform you that you may need to testify that the accounts involved in this present case threatened to sockpuppet and vandalise Wikipedia after successfully hacking into the 2 locked accounts. The link is at 2. Thanks, 118.200.160.208 (talk) 09:27, 4 September 2017 (UTC)

Hi there! Thanks for the heads up! It looks like the SPI is now closed; let me know if I can do anything else to aid the process. Best -- ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 15:12, 18 September 2017 (UTC)

Request

Can you please semi-protect the article Deportation of the Crimean Tatars for unregistered users? An anonymous IP keeps inserting a lot of undue weight in the article. If he has questions, he can always try to reach consensus on the talk page before resorting to disruptive editing.--Seiya (talk) 16:58, 4 September 2017 (UTC)

Hi Seiya, and thank you for leaving a message for me here. I apologize for the late response; I've been busy lately and am getting caught up on messages. It looks like the disruption has stopped, so I'm going to hold off on protecting the article for now. However, if this changes and disruption continues and protection is needed, let me know and I'll take a look. Thanks again :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 15:14, 18 September 2017 (UTC)

Your testimony is needed.

Betty White page

Hi,

Betty White & Allen Ludden were never divorced. They were married in 1963 and remained married until his death in 1981. Her page says they divorced in 1981.

Thanks,

SandyBearsy — Preceding unsigned comment added by 107.77.165.6 (talk) 23:07, 8 September 2017 (UTC)

No. Betty White (in the infobox) says "(m. 1963; d. 1981)" which means they were separated by Ludden's death. Note the other entries say "Div" indicating divorce. The article (further down) says as much. Chris Troutman (talk) 23:22, 8 September 2017 (UTC)
It is a bit ambiguous. I've gotten them mixed up before too. - BilCat (talk) 00:11, 9 September 2017 (UTC)

This may, alas, have been a bit premature. Leastways, resolving wholeheartedly to mend one's ways at ANI doesn't seem entirely consistent to me with telling the reporting user they "lost" at ANI, nor threatening to bash them with one's pet admin (which of course you are not, but GeoJoe seems to labour under the impression you are). Pinkbeast (talk) 14:30, 10 September 2017 (UTC)

Hi Oshwah,
I came in here to talk to you about this very thing. It seems someone beat me to it. Could you please talk to GeoJoe1000 about this? I think you're the only person he will listen to. The ANI has been closed, with the admin protecting the article in question because he felt the alternative was to block both GeoJoe1000 and myself. But I disagree with that, since it was clear that GeoJoe1000 was edit-warring. I'm afraid that the message he will take from this is that he can talk his way out of trouble, this time by claiming that he was the victim of a personal attack; that the ANI was me trying to get back at him for last time. To be honest, I never believed that he accepted responsibility last time, but rather that it was all for show because he knew he did the wrong thing. This time around, he didn't even acknowledge any wrongdoing and instead tried to distract the admins by crying foul. I'm quite happy to work with him (despite his claims to the contrary), but he needs to lose the arrogant, aggressive attitude first—not as a condition of working with me, but so that he can work with anyone—his edit history reveals multiple instances of his coming into conflict with other editors, and his insistence that other editors should "work with him" (I have noticed he has never said "I'll work with you") amounts to those other editors doing what he wants them to.
Like I said, I'm concerned that if his attitude isn't addressed, it's only going to lead to more conflict, and that the message he will take from this episode is that he can talk his way out of trouble. After all, when I told him that he was close to violating 3RR, he responded with "your threat is noted" and went ahead with breaking 3RR anyway. Prisonermonkeys (talk) 01:06, 11 September 2017 (UTC)
Hi Prisonermonkeys! I apologize for the delay responding to your messages here. I've been busy both on Wikipedia and with real-life lately, and I'm just getting all caught up with messages. Did you still need assistance with this issue? Or has this been resolved? Let me know. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 23:30, 18 September 2017 (UTC)
Hi Oshwah,
I wouldn't say it's been resolved. We've entered a state of detente. Things have quietened down since the page was stabilised, but I get the distinct impression that he holds grudges and that his problem with me will flare up in some other form in future. I think the message he left on Spintendo's talk page tells you everything you need to know about him. Prisonermonkeys (talk) 00:02, 19 September 2017 (UTC)

Remove your lock on Kalki (Birth). This is not your personal website.

Administrators protect pages and images to prevent vandalism and assist in resolving content disputes, for example. The key principle to remember here is that Wikipedia is the encyclopedia that "anyone can edit". Protecting pages defeats that goal and so page protection should be avoided when possible and kept as short as possible. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wikicontrols (talkcontribs) 16:24, 13 September 2017 (UTC)

Oshwah is preventing further disruptive editing that has occurred on that article, and as an administrator they have every right to do so. "ANyone can edit" does not mean "anyone can edit in any manner they wish". 331dot (talk) 16:28, 13 September 2017 (UTC)
@Wikicontrols,That first sentence, How disgustingly rude, almost threatning. There are proper civilised manners to speak so watch your tone. Remember, Everyone is a human being here. Regarding the second paragraph, True, However administrators have the right to decide and determine if the "edits" were made with good faith or by vandals just blalantly spreading misinformation. Anyone can edit doesn't mean they have the right to do so. It's quite a privilege as it is but sadly, many seem to manipulate the freedom given to fulfill their own agendas by changing and modifying content. I stand with Oshwah hereShotgunMavericks (talk) 18:15, 13 September 2017 (UTC)

ACTRIAL full protection

Hi Oshwah,

Would you mind indefinitely full and move protecting Wikipedia:New user landing page? ACTRIAL launches in less than 24 hours so having it stable for the next 6 months is needed unless we get consensus to change. Thanks. TonyBallioni (talk) 02:09, 14 September 2017 (UTC)

TonyBallioni -  Done (I applied template-editor protection so that non-admins can continue to improve it when needed). ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 02:10, 14 September 2017 (UTC)
That seems fine. Kaldari had asked for full protection, but template editor will probably work just as well. TonyBallioni (talk) 02:13, 14 September 2017 (UTC)

Release Date for Hercules: Zero to Hero 1999 Film

My reason for editing the release date for this film is that it was inaccurate. The accurate release date for this film was August 17, 1999. A preview for the film was shown in 1999 VHS releases of Disney films such as "Alice in Wonderland", "Robin Hood", and "The Great Mouse Detective". It was released the same day as the Beauty and the Beast film, "Tales of Friendship" which was August 17, 1999. Please understand my reason for the editing of this film release date. If I violated any copyrights laws, I apologize and will take full responsibility for my actions. 167.21.141.11 (talk) 14:22, 14 September 2017 (UTC)(talk) 10:20 14 September 2017 (UTC)167.21.141.11 (talk) 14:22, 14 September 2017 (UTC)

Hi Oshwah

You made an error. I made the correction because there are already citations at the beginning of the Marc Anthony article. If you check the citations right after his year of birth, all of the citations including Biography.com clearly state a birth date of September 16, 1968 not 1964.

If you could revert your change, it would make the the birth date correct.

Invitation to Admin confidence survey

Hello,

Beginning in September 2017, the Wikimedia Foundation Anti-harassment tool team will be conducting a survey to gauge how well tools, training, and information exists to assist English Wikipedia administrators in recognizing and mitigating things like sockpuppetry, vandalism, and harassment.

The survey should only take 5 minutes, and your individual response will not be made public. This survey will be integral for our team to determine how to better support administrators.

To take the survey sign up here and we will send you a link to the form.

We really appreciate your input!

Please let us know if you wish to opt-out of all massmessage mailings from the Anti-harassment tools team.

For the Anti-harassment tools team, SPoore (WMF), Community Advocate, Community health initiative (talk) 20:56, 14 September 2017 (UTC)

SPoore (WMF) - Damn it... I wish I had signed up, but I was so occupied with other matters and I didn't get a chance to do so. FYI about Antifa (United States) protection))

Oshwah, I blocked the edit warrior at the article 13 minutes before you protected it, see [5]. I'm consequently not sure the protection serves any purpose now, but I will certainly let you be the judge of that. I'm just going to bed, living as I do in an exotic timezone, so I won't see any reply for some hours. Please just do as you think best, up to and including removing my block. Bishonen | talk 23:53, 14 September 2017 (UTC).

Bishonen - Okay, I'll take another look. Thanks for letting me know, and have a great rest of your night :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 23:54, 14 September 2017 (UTC)
I still think that it does, IMO. If you look at the edit history of the page (September 11th and September 12th), you'll see what looks to be a content dispute between a group of editors that go back and fourth. I'll keep this discussion open so that others can weigh in. If others feel that this protection should be lifted, please add to this discussion so that I can weigh all of the input and make sure that I'm doing the right thing. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 23:57, 14 September 2017 (UTC)
Looks like others are starting to agree that full protection isn't needed, so I have lowered it to semi-protection :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 00:04, 15 September 2017 (UTC)

Please reconsider PP for Antifa (United States)

Hi Oshwah. I'm asking you to please reconsider the page protection for Antifa (United States). Per this AN3 thread, only one (now blocked) user was edit warring on this page, against broad consensus, and they appear to have used RFPP as a bludgeon to get their way. Note that the report you answered referred to "Persistent BLP violations", which is clearly not the case.

This article needs a lot of work, and it would be a shame to lock it down from collaborative editing for 5 days. I will agree that if edit warring continues after the block, then PP should be reinstated, but at this moment it seems preemptive. AlexEng(TALK) 23:58, 14 September 2017 (UTC)

AlexEng - Bishonen also thought that the full protection was no longer necessary due to the block placed on the user involved. Since you're uninvolved and feel it should be lifted, I'm going to do so before others feel that they have to express their opinions and mount up. There will be no red tape here! ;-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 00:01, 15 September 2017 (UTC)

The Penguins of Madagascar

I'm facing a dilemma at The Penguins of Madagascar. I rather listen to registered users, not the unregistered ones. What do you suggest I do? — FilmandTVFan28 (talk) 04:21, 16 September 2017 (UTC)

I made a constructive edit with edit summary and all, and reverts it immediately, like he never read it, and cries vandalism even though it wasn't. Also, he has no right to choose which editors to listen to, he has to listen for everyone, regardless of status. 2600:1004:B02E:D4C6:E09C:69D7:47F6:D057 (talk) 05:07, 16 September 2017 (UTC)
FilmandTVFan28 - All editors involved in a dispute have an equal voice, and so long as they do not edit war or break 3RR, and they cooperate and follow Wikipedia's dispute resolution process and discuss the matter civilly - they should be treated with the same level of respect and given the opportunity to speak and be heard. The fact that you have an account or choose to edit without one is irrelevant. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 05:16, 16 September 2017 (UTC)
(edit conflict) I should have mentioned that treating everybody equally also applies to the enforcement of Wikipedia's policies. All editors involved in this dispute will be treated exactly the same - you will be given the equal respect and opportunity to participate and discuss the dispute at-hand as anybody else. But I will also treat all editors the same when it comes to the violation of policies and the use of administrator tools to enforce them. If edit warring or disruption continues on the article, all users who are directly found to be doing so will be blocked. Discuss this dispute peacefully and follow the dispute resolution policy and work together to resolve this :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 05:28, 16 September 2017 (UTC)

F1 2018

Hi Oshwah,

Could you please take a loot at 2018 FIA Formula One World Championship? I know things have gotten out of control and that everyone involved is equally responsible for the whole sorry mess. But now we have some new information, it's time to request some edits.

Before we do that, I have proposed that the editors involved wait 24 hours before submitting that request. My reasons are two-fold: 1) it's a complex arrangement between all parties involved, and given the scale of the disagreement, I think it's important that all editors agree on the way forward; and 2) it's a show of good faith so that admins can see that the editors involved can actually work together. I think this is quite reasonable, and has offered some previously-uninvolved editors like Joseph2302 the chance to comment on the content.

However, ever since then, GeoJoe10000 and Wikipediaeditperson have repeatedly accused me of deliberately trying to prolong the protection period so that the article is intentionally incorrect. This could not be further from the truth, and some of their comments suggest that they do not even understand why I was opposed to the edits in the first place. Any time I try to do something constructive, they immediately step in and accuse me of deliberate wrongdoing. Prisonermonkeys (talk) 04:33, 16 September 2017 (UTC)

Prisonermonkeys - If everyone involved agrees that the full protection should be removed, and they all ping me and say so - I'll lower it without question :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 06:11, 16 September 2017 (UTC)
We're pretty much ready to go. My more immediate concern is that even if the content dispute is resolved, there are some editors who are more interested in settling scores than doing anything constructive. They're treating the talk page as a battleground to the point where they have lost sight of what the original issue was. The initial dispute was over the use of an article that relied on an anonymous source without providing anything to substantiate it, but some have abandoned that and are trying to settle scores. My concern is what happens if the issue isn't resolved when the protection is lifted. Prisonermonkeys (talk) 06:36, 16 September 2017 (UTC)
I would leave the protection in place until it's scheduled to end. It's not indefinite. That way the article get's some much needed stability. The two major edits which need to take place can be executed through edit requests. One is already live now and can be executed as no-one objects. The second should follow once we settle on the wording.Tvx1 15:37, 16 September 2017 (UTC)
Hi Oshwah,
As you are the admin who protected the article, could you please lift the protection on 2018 FIA Formula One World Championship? The content dispute has been resolved, appropriate changes made to the article through edit requests and everything has stabilised. There is some ongoing discussion about the precise wording on the talk page, but it can be resolved through editconsensus. There are also some extensive changes proposed for the article, but these have been discussed at length both on the talk page and at the Formula 1 WikiProject (it's a big section, but the most relevant stuff is at the bottom). You will also note that most of the key players from last week's flare-up have taken part in these discussions, demonstrating that we can work together (and the most disruptive editor has largely been neutralised). Prisonermonkeys (talk) 02:49, 19 September 2017 (UTC)

Need help with reviewing a person's edit

Hey, could you do me a big favor and review someone's edit to the article, DuckTales? The individual in question is an editor called Spshu.

The reason I ask for your assistance is on a number of factors in regards to the edits they made to this article that I find questionable, considering the volume they have added in and what areas they changed. For example, they stated that they consider the small text used in the article's infobox to be extraneous in terms of formatting, but I don't agree to that at all. They also comment that the cartoon is the first Disney cartoon to be syndicated, but they have done nothing to prove this to be the case in terms of citations, and I can't say if this can be considered true or not. I stated how I felt their edits were questionable and that they should take this to the article's talk page to discuss what they wanted to do, but they just reverted it all, and claimed my reversion was unconstructive, which I find a bit hurtful when all I did was raise a concern over what was changed. Could you take a look at this, before they decide to revert again (after I reverted their reversion, requesting once more that they take the matter to talk page for discussion), please? Hi - thanks for your message. At the request of Barry Harris himself I have amended his Wiki page - apologies for not initially describing the changes (I've not amended Wiki for a while) - I have since rectified this. Many thanks Servitor Vek (talk) 18:42, 18 September 2017 (UTC)

Hi Servitor Vek and thanks for leaving me a message here. Sorry, but editing a page where you have a conflict of interest is a behavior that's not encouraged by the community. This is due to the inability for those users to maintain a neutral point of view with their edits. Any content added can also be cited as original research, which isn't allowed on Wikipedia articles. Original research is content that's referenced off an editors personal experience, relationships, findings, and references (even if its published). You can also call it "citing yourself". John Daker socks

Hey Osh, just saw you reviewed my tag on the one sock account. In looking at the instructions at Wikipedia:Long-term abuse/John Daker, could you by chance delete the user talk pages from these socks and create protect them? I suppose a steward should also globally lock these accounts. A CU might be necessary if there's any other accounts involved... Home Lander (talk) 20:47, 18 September 2017 (UTC)

Jim1138 - If numerous reliable sources refer to this BLP as the nickname, and it's referenced in the article - I don't see an issue with it being there. What are your thoughts? ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 01:24, 19 September 2017 (UTC)
It seems that Cantwell has made a name for himself. I was asking for a second opinion. Should I add more of these references for the moniker? There seem to be many who "don't like it". Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 01:45, 19 September 2017 (UTC)

A question

Dear Oshwah, how are you? I'm here per your kind offer of help. I was trying to open a Sockpuppet investigations subpage for a user but the page was protected while I tried it for anther user and it allowed me. What's wrong? Tnx. --Mhhossein talk 04:59, 19 September 2017 (UTC)

Mhhossein - Okay, first of all, why did you add "(under normal circumstances, I'd be asleep and unaware of this conversation, so wouldn't be able to do anything)" to Adam9007's response to a discussion above on my talk page in your message to me here? And secondly, I would need to know what SPI subpage you were trying to edit, exactly. Can you provide the link to it for me? ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 05:21, 19 September 2017 (UTC)
Mhhossein - And yes, by the way, I'm always happy to give you a hand if you need it :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 05:24, 19 September 2017 (UTC)
See the edit once again, I've not added "(under normal circumstances..." to your TP! I checked the history and found that Asam himself had added the phrase. I was trying to report Dr.K. at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations. Thank you again. --Mhhossein talk 06:56, 19 September 2017 (UTC)let
Mhhossein - I'm a moron. Sorry for thinking you added that phrase! I... thought it was a little strange... LOL! Anyways, let me take a look. Stand by. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 07:00, 19 September 2017 (UTC)
Mhhossein - It's protected because of abuse. What evidence do you have supporting your accusations toward Dr.K. of being a sock puppet? ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 07:03, 19 September 2017 (UTC)
It's strange, what kind of abuse? Well, see Talk:Ali Khamenei. To be honest, I'm going to lean toward other users. Will the final report include any related accounts to that of the master, regardless of whom I have reported as puppet? --Mhhossein talk 07:19, 19 September 2017 (UTC)
The report will typically list or include any accounts that were found to link to the one you reported, if any are found, yes. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 07:21, 19 September 2017 (UTC)
Kind and helpful like before, thank you again. --Mhhossein talk 07:25, 19 September 2017 (UTC)

Hi Oshwah. My respect for you, as you know, is great and it will remain great, because I know you are one of the most helpful and friendly admins. But, please, when someone comes in with a patently false and bad-faith accusation, that smacks of trying to eliminate the opposition he got at Talk:Khamenei — by using WP:CLUEless means — please give this person a warning, and tell him/her that s/he needs to clean up his/her act, and not open — or attempt to open — clueless SPI investigations against good-faith and longstanding editors, especially when it is based on no evidence at all. He already opened a clearly disruptive SPI against the other two editors who disagreed with him/her at Talk:Khamenei. That's disruptive, to say the least. Thank you. Dr. K. 17:07, 19 September 2017 (UTC)
Hi Dr.K.. I really appreciate your feedback regarding this discussion - I think it'll help you understand what I was thinking if I explained my strategy here (which didn't work like I had hoped). I was attempting to try and be open and helpful to the user in hopes that he/she'd provide me with details and information regarding their accusation (which I already knew to be completely without merit). This was so that I could respond to the user with the need to stop what they're doing and the need to shape up. I find that if you don't start a discussion with guns blaring at the beginning, users are more receptive and will understand your warnings and input when you confront them with their behavior. I also find that, if you just answer their questions, they'll stop what they're doing or just leave. I hope this helped you to understand what I was trying to do. I certainly wasn't trying to encourage the user to lead them in the wrong direction. Sometimes this works, sometimes this doesn't. I do try my best, though... :-/ ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 17:54, 19 September 2017 (UTC)
I can see your point Oshwah. It is obvious that you were not trying to encourage this user to open an SPI, so no need to explain that point. As I told you before, my respect for you is, and will remain, undiminished. I realise, that in a few, sad, cases such as this, a mild approach will not work. No problem. I accept the validity of your philosophy. :) Take care. Dr. K. 18:04, 19 September 2017 (UTC)
Dr.K. - I appreciate that very much. Your feedback is always welcome here - I take it all as a positive learning opportunity. Thanks :-D ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 18:08, 19 September 2017 (UTC)

Am sorry but I do not understand some coding here, not really technical

Annabella Sciorra

Hello,

I didn't provide a source because all of those sources that are in the person's birth year, say she was born 1960, and not 1964.

That change you made now it's wrong. There is no source telling that she was born in 1964. She was born in 1960.

I suggest you take a look at the sources that are in the page next to her birth year, which tell that her birth year is 1960. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.132.121.132 (talkcontribs)

The Orville

Hi, sorry to be a bother. I'm writing because you've blocked The Orville page for what I believe to be a spurious report left by a user called Hattiedog. I've been editing the page for around two weeks and haven't noticed any vandalism, rather I've seen a rash of new users/novice editors who seem unaware of what the rules are or what the procedure is for TV show pages. I've reverted a few of these people myself and not once have I seen them come back to re add something, or anything that would be considered vandalism.

Through blissful ignorance myself I responded to the page protection request(My first time on this area), was reverted, reverted back and noticed at the top of the page the procedure is to ask the admin, so here I am. I really don't think it's fair that now a host of users who have contributed to the page in their own way can no longer edit because of Hattiedogs report for two weeks. I would like to request that you take a quick look at the page(Specifically the reversions), I think you'll see that pretty much all of them are excited fans unaware of the rules as mentioned, I wouldn't label any as vandals. 82.15.11.92 (talk) 23:24, 19 September 2017 (UTC)

There's absolutely no need to apologize; I appreciate you for messaging me and asking me to re-evaluate a decision I made. Sure, let me take a look and see what the best course of action is moving forward. The last thing I want to do is to shut out editors who are making legitimate contributions to an article and due to the protection I've applied to it. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 23:34, 19 September 2017 (UTC)
The article is only pending changes protected; this allows you to edit the page without restriction. The only difference is that your changes must be reviewed by a pending changes reviewer before it will go live and be displayed to the general public (non-logged in users). You shouldn't have any issues with editing the article... ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 23:37, 19 September 2017 (UTC)

Curiosity, Adventure & Love page has gone!

Let me again, reiterate the problem.

First of all, we have an existing page for Curiosity, Adventure and Love. Jessie Lichauco is totally different page. So this Curiosity, Adventure and Love is now missing cos somebody from your end change it's name to Curiosity, Adventure & Love which obviously has the ampersand "&". When your admin did the change, the whole page has gone!

Originally, "Curiosity, Adventure and Love" page has all the details: poster, casts, synposis, awards, etc!

Your admin deleted the whole page! We only requested to change the title but NOT TO DELETE THE PAGE!!!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sunshinedeleon.assistant (talkcontribs) 06:09, 20 September 2017 (UTC)

Hi Oshwah

Previously it was written as "Reportedly, a total of 85,000 bucket seats[7] have been installed in the stadium for the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup to be held in India.[8] The capacity of the stadium has been increased from 68,000 to 85,000 for the FIFA U-17 World Cup". But just a week ago I visited the Stadium and asked the Ground Officials about the capacity and they told that now the capacity become 67,000. And that day only I read this article in Goal.com and then I believed this fact.

Hi. I'm User:The brave celery under an IP and I'm the one who made that original edit about "The Apprentice". This makes sense to me because, unless they want to do it with another host, Mr. Trump will be incredibly busy, and Arnold Schwarzennegger (spelling?) has "refused to do another season". On the celebrity apprentice page, you'll see (and this one was not added by me) that is says that show has effectively been cancelled.

Hi Tobybenson, and thank you for leaving me a message here with your request for assistance. Sorry, but I don't believe the sources you provided are considered reliable to meet the requirements stated in Wikipedia's policy on biographies of living people. You also state that you "manage" the article - this concerns me. It sounds like there are conflict of interest issues here - something you really shouldn't be finding yourself crossing into. I suggest that you review this guideline and let me know if you have any questions. Hello,

Sorry to clarify I manage the artist, Olof Corneer (rather than manage the article).

Here are some references from reliable sources that support the changes requested in regards to changing the name from Olle to Olof;

Changes to the Sloths band page

Hey man. I Mike Rummans, am the founding member of The Sloths band. What more reliable source can there be than me? I'm merely trying to update this page. Hi there, and thanks for leaving me a message with your concerns. I see that you're making changes to the article over a series of edits. I saw a few individual edits that, by themselves (and not realizing that you were making many edits together), were concerning because you didn't explain what you were doing and why using an edit summary. You had removed content, removed a section, and referenced a source that seemed to be a blog. However, since you're making a series of changes, I'm going to revert the content I removed - I apologize for any frustration or confusion. Moving forward, you should add an edit summary with each of your changes so that other editors understand what youre doing and why. If you need anything else, let me know and I'll be happy to help you. Cheers :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 17:11, 20 September 2017 (UTC)

Oh sorry didn't mean to vandalise. I had a bunch of text copied on notepad, and planned to paste it all back in. The reason for the blog sources is that they're the best you got. The original sources are lost (Like Gunota for the interview), and I'm pretty sure they're accurate, given some of those info are repeated on other Japanese blogs. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.136.14.124 (talk) 17:20, 20 September 2017 (UTC)

I should also add to my response and make sure that you understand that your editing of the article represents a clear conflict of interest with the article subject. Per Wikipedia's guidelines on this situation, you should refrain from making edits to such articles and focus on other articles that interest you instead. As I said above, feel free to let me know if you have any questions about the guideline I referenced you here. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 19:15, 20 September 2017 (UTC)

Jaredgk2008 vandalism

Hey, Oshwah. I recently found a sock of Jaredgk2008 (SPI), and, where there's one, there's usually another. Going through the range contribs for one of the IP ranges he used, I found you reverted an IP sock in this edit. If you're unfamiliar with him, he's a serial BLP vandal who likes to write fanciful yet highly defamatory hoaxes about celebrities. One of his trademarks is using the name "Firooz Oskooi" gratuitously in his hoaxes. If you see anyone add BLP violations with that name attached, you should probably block on sight without sock tags (per WP:DENY). NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 19:20, 20 September 2017 (UTC)

Editig Rawlplug Ltd.

Hi Oshwah, I've been asked to help with a wiki page for Rawlplug Ltd. as part of my University project related to family-owned businesses. Initially the task was just to tidy an old wiki up but I offered to change it into a piece of text that reflects better what this company actually does and they kindly offered a small compensation for my time. I see now that I made an error admitting that whilst seeking advice on how I should proceed with changing the article's title from Rawlplug Ltd to Rawlplug. I don;t quite understand how and where I should make a statement about the fact that my relationship with the Rawlplug company was part of the university project and any compensation for my time was just to cover my costs. I did not make any profit on creating a Wiki about Rawlplug. I see that I've managed to make a couple of other editors quite angry and that was not my intention. In the future, I will also remember about providing explanations for any edits in the articles I may decide to create. Many thanks for your help in advance:) jowita ```` — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jowita ch (talkcontribs) 19:47, 20 September 2017 (UTC)

River of Blood (monument) page

You left a note on my talk page regarding edit warring on the River of Blood (monument) page. The user, "I am One of Many" is continuously editing this article to push a partisan point of view by adding superfluous information that is not relevant to the article's subject. I am editing the article to make it view point neutral by removed the superfluous / incorrect information and the user "I am One of Many" keeps adding back. That user needs to be stopped from continuously editing the page because they are flagrantly and repeatedly violating the neutral point-of-view rules. I made some edits and they were deleted.

Hello, I am new to this, but I figured out what I was doing wrong and posted some edits to the AT&T Stadium page and the NRG Stadium page. However, someone named Lander deleted them and I can't figure out how to message them. I am guessing they are an admistrator like you. The edits I made were not for advertising, per say. My company built the fields and installed the turf at the two stadiums and they should be noted on there. How can I get my edits to be added without being deleted?

Hello! If you can find a reliable source to support your statements (like a newspaper or something like that), then you should be able to add it in one sentence. You should just say who installed it, and nothing else. There isn't more needed. Also, there should never by external links in the body of an article. If you are having trouble citing your source, then see this page. Thanks! RileyBugz会話投稿記録 21:29, 20 September 2017 (UTC)

Re: I made some edits and they were deleted

I am confused. Like I said this is new to me. I am having a hard time moving around the pages and finding my previous submitted note.

You said to read a certain page and I went there but I didn't see anything that was related to my posts on AT&T Stadiumm and NRG Stadium.

What I'm saying is that you have to change your edits to get them reinstated. To do that, you have to cite reliable sources to support your claims. Also, you should not say things about the company, like it being trusted. In all honesty, one should be able to say that they installed the turf in one sentence. I linked you to the page I did just in case you did not know how to source your edits. Thanks! RileyBugz会話投稿記録 21:40, 20 September 2017 (UTC)

What I mean is that you can't have external links (links that are just blue with nothing else are ok). If it has a little box with an arrow and it is in the body, then it is not ok. RileyBugz会話投稿記録 21:59, 20 September 2017 (UTC)

About the Berisha Tribe

Hi Oshwah, I forgot to leave an explanation. Sorry about that.

However, about this part: "Many Islamized Serbian families in Kosovo entered the fis of Berisha. In 1967 it was recorded that Romani families in Podrima and in the Đakovica srez are under the fis of Berisha, as they are the most powerful in that region,[29] while Magjupi[where?] are under Berisha or Gashi.[30]"

This is 1. NOT a reliable source and 2. fabricated. There are too much of these fabricated stories from the serbian side. Trying to lable the albanian nation as a "bunch of gypsies, mixeed nation". It's ridiculous. Serbias goverment is known for labeling all kind of ethnic or religion groups, minorities (such as Vlach, Romas, Albanians, Muslims, Boshniaks, Turks, etc) as "gypsies". An example: my grandfather was not killed by serbs - just (!) because he had darkblond hair and blue eyes. He was declared as "an albanian with possibly slavic origin". So they let him go. There are books (written from serbian authors) where it is stated that census in Kosovo was based on appearance. Ppl with dark hair were declared and labled as "turks", "gypsies" etc. Ppl with light brown, blond hair were declared as ppl of "slavic origin". How they self-identifies was not even a question. This is called albanophobia, discrimmination and census falsification. It's a fact that the albanian nation is the most homogenous nation in entire balkan. Serbian goverment needs to back up with such fairy tales and anti-albanian propaganda. Not to mention that these ppl who entered albanians fis (tribe) did not call themself "serbian" but sandjak and entered mainly muslim fis, or dominant muslim fis. They were not orthodox. And there are many of them in Turkey. They still self-identify as "sadjak". And it's not uncommon that they have part albanian ancestry. even 300 years ago it was considered as a shame for the albanian fis to intermarry with orthodox (aka "shkije"). Basically: marriage with Serbs = exile, leave the tribe. Pls do your research.

As for the Romas (btw. magjup is offensive): Marriage and contact with this ethnic group was a bigger taboo than a marriage with a serb. Let aone a fis-inclusion. Romas were not under albanian tribes, it's not accepted today and for sure not back then. Especially not in the region around Gjakova. Romas were the last one to be accepted under an albanian fis. I know the region around Gjakova and the fis very well. I have both tribes (father and mother) very well documented. However, the roma ppl were not "under albanian fis" - but were infact always among themselves. There was a small circle of romas near our tribe (about 15 min.). They came from the north and asked if they can settle down near our village. These roma ppl were invited in albanian villages only during weddings, as musicians. For Christmans or Bajram (neighbour village is dominant muslim) it was something like a "tradition" in our region to bring food or sugar to these roma ppl. These romas left before the KS war started. There were already wars happening. Romas had obvious distance from regions populated by Albanians. There were some albanian fis who chased away romas, but there were also fis wo tolerated roma ppl in the region. It was mainly a decision that the tribesman made. but like I said, they could not enter or live with albanians, for example not in the same village, and they were not included to fis. Till to this day marriages with roma ppl are a taboo. Not only in the albanian community, but pretty much all over Balkan. Mixing with romas is seen as "against the moral". Romas do in fact also avoid marriage with non-romas. Trying to keep their community together and not to assimilate into foreign culture. There is in fact a Paranoia problem in Balkan. Ppl still fear the extinction of their own kind, culture and language.

However, this is a page about an albanian tribe - and serbian "theories" or "sources" cannot be tolerated here. serbian sources like this are for a FACT not neutral. something like "Zivot i običaji narodni, Srpski etnografski zbornik, Srpski etnografski zbornik" ... clearly NOT a source and telling , once again, fabricated stories.

It is only fair to demand neutral sources. Pls remove. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.162.106.227 (talk) 15:38, 21 September 2017 (UTC)

If you feel that the content isn't accurate, or if it isn't properly referenced by reliable sources, you're of course okay to challenge and remove the content. But you need to explain why you're removing it by adding an edit summary. This helps other editors to understand what you're doing and why. Tyler Hynes Edit

Hi there. Glad there is a way to talk to you. I have been contributing to Tyler's page for years. I am his family and manage his affairs. I am now dealing with this for the second time. Tyler's religious affiliations are his own and not for Wikipedia. This is his private life. He has helped with Church Campaigns years ago but this is old news. He does not want any religion stated under personal at all. This is not good that it keeps coming up. Wikipedia is suppose to be for information on an individual but ethnic issues and religious issues and political issues do not belong there especially if stated that it is not wanted otherwise. I keep removing it and it keeps being put back on. Would like your help in resolving this issue.

Manipulation Under Anesthesia

I removed two sections as they are now incorporated into other sections. The first section on hip replacement is now covered in the first well-referenced section on extremity manipulation. The external link to one article gives undue emphasis to an article above other more current and more thorough reviews. I also made numerous additions of reference citations that had been marked as needed. I also edited grammar and corrected headings.

All of the changes were lost when you placed the eliminated sections back. If you can revert it back to what I had just done it would be greatly appreciated.

I am new at this so I would also appreciate your assistance for knowing how to better communicate what I am doing so the changes will be accepted. I am being very careful and working with another doctor to make sure that everything that is placed in here can be backed-up 100%.— Preceding unsigned comment added by CritCred (talkcontribs) 23:50, 21 September 2017 (UTC)

Disruptive editor

Job Labasan has once again reverted other editors, over multiple pope articles, in an attempt to add unsourced information.

Do you want to handle this or should I file an SPI, since Kimley Labasan, Kim Labasan and three IPs49.147.191.157,49.147.183.110,119.93.41.213, all appear to be doing the same edits. --Kansas Bear (talk) 03:14, 22 September 2017 (UTC)

 • Hold on, I'm on it. Drmies (talk) 03:16, 22 September 2017 (UTC)
 • Kansas Bear, here's what you do: file that SPI, under the oldest account. Add the IPs--the two 49 IPs are old (and stale) but they are important--what you're arguing is that this is a long-term disruptor who's been doing the same thing over and over again. Mention that Kim Labasan and Job Labasan are a perfect CU match: I just confirmed that. Here's the catch: they don't overlap, and it could be a lost password--I can tell you that I found such a suggestion in the log. Now, I blocked that Kim account in early September and left a comment somewhere, saying the same thing I'm saying here: if there is no overlap it's not easy to argue there is abuse of multiple accounts. At that time I think I confirmed the two K accounts; you can find it in my history of that day, if it's important. Then, the next admin should decide if all these accounts should be blocked and if the "sockpuppet" label should be slapped on it. At the very least you'll have an SPI you can point to next time. OK? 1922 Setting Change

Hi there,

I noticed you reversed the change I made to the 1922_(novella) wikipedia entry. The article states in multiple locations that the novella is set in Nebraska, not Nevada, as it states in the category at the bottom of the page. Please change the category "Novels set in Nevada" to "Novels set in Nebraska."

If you must have a source for this, here's one: http://stephenking.com/library/short_story/1922.html

Thanks.

Another edit: Nevermind, I changed it myself but included what changes I made as a note.

Hey, thanks for the message and for letting me know. It looks like you just reverted the change back, so all looks good from here. If you have questions, let me know. Cheers :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 20:06, 22 September 2017 (UTC)

Isabella Cramp

Hello- I am Isabella's mother. I have been trying to correct her name. Her birth name is Isabella Veneranda- Patricia Cramp however her stage name is Isabella Crovetti. She started out using Cramp then if you look at her credits in Colony and Magic camp she is now Crovetti. Please change her name on Wikipedia. Also can you add her credits Shimmer and Shine Colony Magic Camp And Vampirina I have been trying to change this and you keep changing it back. Hi Denisecrovetti and thanks for leaving me a message here. This is not allowed because such content cannot be verified for authenticity or accuracy. Please review this policies and guidelines, as they are very important. If you have questions about them, please let me know and I'll be happy to answer them. Thanks for understanding :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 20:11, 22 September 2017 (UTC)

Web hosting or just silly?

Hi,

I've just seen User:Polyhistoric/sandbox, and figured out what the encoded description says: it reads "Pop culture and history editor" (I had a hunch about what the code was and I was right). I understand it, but do you think it's possible for someone to mistake this as web hosting or vandalism? Adam9007 (talk) 01:14, 23 September 2017 (UTC)

The reason I ask is because if it was in mainspace, it would probably be G1d, and I can imagine scenarios where someone would take one look at it and think, "what the hell is this?" and U5 or MfD it or something. Obviously, I don't want that to happen if it's perfectly legitimate. Adam9007 (talk) 01:40, 23 September 2017 (UTC)
Adam9007 - Hey man, I apologize for missing this message on my talk page. I've been busy lately and I'm just now catching back up with everything. Do you still need help with this? This looks like someone just being silly IMO... ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 00:13, 17 October 2017 (UTC)
It's the sort of thing I might have done if I wanted to be really silly. I had a hunch as to what it (the code) was and I was right. But others who would not understand it would probably think differently and nominate it for deletion or something. Adam9007 (talk) 00:18, 17 October 2017 (UTC)
It's true that someone may nominate it, but hopefully someone attentive will see the difference. If you still have concerns about this, you can certainly add a dummy edit to explain so that others know. I'm sure there's a way to do something like this in order to save others' time... :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 10:07, 17 October 2017 (UTC)

Not sure about this user page

Hi again,

I know editors may put statements about themselves in their userspace, but do you think this is WP:999-worthy? Also, is it grossly offensive? At first, I thought "gay faggot" was a contradiction in terms (how can a faggot be gay?), but now I'm not so sure. Or is this just trolling? Thanks. Adam9007 (talk) 02:10, 23 September 2017 (UTC)

Adam9007 - This is a G10 situation, not a threat of violence. They were attack statements toward someone else with the intent of messing with their reputation, it was not a threat to directly hurt anybody. That being said, if you disagree at all and think it may imply direct violence, you should disregard my advice and report it no questions asked. Let me know if you still have questions and I'll be happy to answer them. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 02:44, 23 September 2017 (UTC)
Let me know if you still have questions and I'll be happy to answer them Well, there's the one above this . Now I come to think of it, I'm not sure it was entirely appropriate to give the decoded statement, but I can't see how else I could prove my "I understand it" statement. At least I didn't give the solution away: that really would have spoiled it. Adam9007 (talk) 03:18, 23 September 2017 (UTC)
All set and answered ;-). Sorry for the delay in doing so. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 10:08, 17 October 2017 (UTC)

Please restore my correction of The River King.

Hi Oshwash, You recently reverted a correction I made to the River King (Movie) page. I corrected the plot summary which in no way reflected the story of the film. This was written by someone trying to sabotage the page - that's why I removed it and added a plot summary that truly and correctly reflects the story of the film. If you have seen the film you would see that I am right. For example the first sentence of the sabotaging plot summary reads: "Abel Grey (Edward Burns) goes with Charlin Leander (Rachelle Lefevre) and Betsy (Jennifer Ehle) goes to the house in Nova Scotia Canada and then goes in the house and has a group of king army's and then kills them and then leaves the house and kills them outside and then takes Charlin to an interview and then Abel goes in his house and then sleeps and then takes a break." Abel Grey doesn't kill anyone in the film. In fact the only correct thing in that sentence is the character's name Abel Grey. Everything else is gobbledigook. The summary continues throughout with the same mad rambling inaccuracies. So please, if you're concerned that Wikipedia is genuine, reinstate my correction which reflects the ACTUAL plot of the film. Manipulation Under Anesthesia Table on incorrectly quoted journal articles

The table that details incorrectly quoted MUA journal articles was removed. The table was very well referenced. The table served a purpose as a Google search for MUA produces numerous personal websites that misquote the same articles.

It would be very helpful to understand why the table was removed. It would also be good to know if there is something that could be done to return the table as it is useful/reliable information for the reader. CritCred (talk) 13:40, 23 September 2017 (UTC)

360 video edit

Hi,

I noticed that you reverted my edits to the page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/360-degree_video

Your response mentioned that I did not adequately explain my edits. I apologize, as I am not a common editor of wikipedia entries - I've edited maybe 3 since wikipedia began - and I also thought that my edit was actually self-explanatory.

Google Cardboard is a joke product. Referencing it in a serious manner on a serious subject page is simply bad. It provides fodder for those who argue that Wikipedia is not a serious reference site. I don't understand at all how a reference to "Google Cardboard" as a serious "technology" could be accepted by the wikipedia community.

Please reinstate my changes.

This is what the edit shows: 01:29, 22 September 2017 (diff | hist) . . (-1,124)‎ . . 360-degree video ‎ (Google Cardboard entries clearly joke entries.) (Tags: references removed, Visual edit)

Can you please suggest a better phrasing for the edit comment then, since that was not an adequate explanation?

I believe that the edit summary you added with the edit you made here explains your point of view, sure. However, it does not adequately explain why the content should be removed and why the reason is in-line with Wikipedia policy or a discussion between editors that come to a consensus stating that it should be. This is why I reverted the edit you made and with the reason I stated - your explanation was not adequate. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 10:32, 17 October 2017 (UTC)

Still looking for some help...

@Oshwah: Hi Oshwah - Apologies for continuing to bug you about this. And apologies for editing on your talk page (apparently, since I got two messages about that!). Please see below (next section) to review my earlier question that you so generously agreed to help with. I believe the history still should be restored to the "new" Neil Gross page but, unfortunately, the Draft: Neil Gross page (where the history was) no longer seems to be available. I was going to just go ahead and request the merge (and probably get yelled at for doing it wrong :-)) but now I'm wondering if it is too late. If possible, please tell me what I should do next or if I should take this question elsewhere. Thanks! 1stCoastal (talk) 04:24, 26 September 2017 (UTC)

New user page mess :-(

Reposting - Hi there, Oshwah. You were recommended to me by another editor who said you were of great help to them. I'm hoping you can help me get something straightened out. The story - I was working on adding some content to a page for Neil Gross. I copied the existing page into a sandbox page but, being new, failed to include the correct information at the top to let others know what I was doing. To be honest, I never expected anyone to even LOOK at my sandbox. A well meaning and more experienced user (Comatmebro) decided to take my sandbox page and make an article page from it, adding the subject's middle name. The new page is Neil Luis Gross. When I saw this I let Comatmebro know that there were now two pages for the same person with the same content (seems they would have realized this). They then made the original page into a draft page (Draft:Neil Gross). the Draft page has all of the old history since creation on 1/24/14 and the new one only has history since that page was created on 7/10/17. Since this happened another editor added a new section to the Neil Luis Gross page. So, what I think needs to happen is that the Draft page needs to be restored to being an article page with the new section from the Neil Luis Gross page included and the Neil Luis Gross page needs to eventually be deleted. I really have no idea how to do any of these things. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide! 1stCoastal (talk) 04:57, 30 July 2017 (UTC)

U can just redirect the one page 2 the other 172.56.13.9 (talk) 04:58, 30 July 2017 (UTC)
Hi 1stCoastal! Sure, I'll be happy to lend you a hand and help you out. I see that Neil Gross exists, but I don't see that Neil Luis Gross exists, nor are there any logs of its deletion. I'm looking through Comatmebro's contributions, but I don't see the edit for the page creation. Can you point me to the location of the duplicate page? I'll be happy to take a look and help you from there :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 02:54, 31 July 2017 (UTC)
1stCoastal - Ah, I see now. The Neil Gross page now redirects to Neil Louis Gross. You should be able to add the content from your sandbox now that it's merged and in one place. Let me know if you need any more help, and I'll be happy to do so :-D ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 02:56, 31 July 2017 (UTC)
Thanks, Oshwah. The Draft:Neil Gross page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft%3ANeil_Gross), created in 2014 by Brainy J, is actually the original page as it existed before I touched it and has all of the history from before that time. The Neil Luis Gross page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neil_Louis_Gross) started out in my sandbox as a copy of the original page and was mistakenly (but with good intentions) moved to article space by Comatmebro on 7/10/17 (with the addition of the middle name "Luis") and does not have all of the history. I don't know how to "undraftify" the draft page and, since the newer NLG page has a number of edits since it came into being, I don't know how to combine the two pages to preserve 1) the history from what is now the draft page and 2) the history from the new edits on the NLG page. Hope this is more clear and thanks again for your willingness to help!1stCoastal (talk) 04:47, 31 July 2017 (UTC)
@Oshwah: So I'm hoping you will still be able to help me with this :-) as it is a dilemma. If I add my new content to the NLG page, it won't have the early history from the original page. If I add the content to the Draft:Neil Gross page it will have the history but not the other new content that other people have added to the NLG page. My understanding is that they somehow need to be merged. I know I can't do that and at this point I don't even know what to ask for. Thanks again (I hope). 1stCoastal (talk) 05:09, 5 August 2017 (UTC)
@Oshwah: OK, sorry if I'm being a pest (and please let me know if that is the case). I really don't see what is supposed to happen at this point (maybe you don't, either?). Should I add my additional content to the draft page (Draft: Neil Gross) and then request a merge with the Neil Luis Gross page? :-) 1stCoastal (talk) 03:35, 11 August 2017 (UTC)
1stCoastal, don't ever think that you're being a pest by asking me questions or doing what you feel is right for the project. I won't ever bring you down in that way and make you think that :-). Since the Neil Gross page is already published, you can just add the additional content to that page. Just make extra sure that any content you're adding is referenced by a reliable source since this article is a biography of a living person. Drafts are simply meant for those who need help creating a new article on a subject that doesn't yet exist. Since the article exists already, you don't need to go through that extra step ;-). Please let me know if you have any more questions. I'll be happy to answer them. Please accept my apologies for the late response, by the way. Life kept me busy recently and I'm just now catching up on my emails and messages. Cheers -- ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 19:06, 15 August 2017 (UTC)
1stCoastal (talk) 04:23, 26 September 2017 (UTC)

1stCoastal - Okay, so in a nutshell... according to your description above, it looks like that you copied the content from Neil Gross to Draft:Neil Gross to expand it before you added your changes to the live version, and in the middle of expanding and improving this copy in the draft, it was copied from your draft and to another article (it's actually spelled Neil Louis Gross; Neil Luis Gross is empty and has no history). So it sounds like (according your description) that you believe that we now have three articles that are out of sync (and therefore out-of-whack). Okay, no big deal. We can resolve this no problem.

Looking at the Neil Louis Gross article, I see that it has since been moved to Neil Gross. I checked the deleted edits of Neil Gross and Neil Louis Gross, and I see an entry that says that Comatmebro moved Neil Gross to Draft:Neil Gross back in July. Then afterwards, it was copied to Neil Louis Gross, which was then moved back to Neil Gross. WHEW... Okay. So it looks like we just have two pages we need to merge the histories with, not three. Everything was done correctly up to the point that the content was copy-and-paste moved from Draft:Neil Gross to (what ultimately is now) Neil Gross - which is what we just need to fix now. I'll get the histories merged and let you know when it's done. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 11:33, 17 October 2017 (UTC)

1stCoastal - Okay... it looks like I've gotten most of the histories merged from Draft:Neil Gross to Neil Gross with the exception of two edits that were made outside the latest revision in the draft and the oldest revision in the live article... yay. I'll just need to go back and merge those in manually. I'll swing back around and get that part done after I finish up with some other tasks that have priority. Again, I sincerely apologize for how long it took for me to respond to your request for help and get this done for you. Life has kept me busy, and I let your request slip through the cracks and that was my fault. I hope you understand. Let me know if you need anything else and I'll be happy to do give you a hand :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 11:43, 17 October 2017 (UTC)

The two IPs you recently blocked for making problematic edits at Bret Hart were pushing the exact same edit[10][11] made by the still-unblocked User:Psychonot,[12] who was in turn pushing the exact same edit that confirmed User:Mangoeater1000 sock, User:Eliken, made back in April.[13] In other words, Psychonot is not only a sock of the IPs you blocked, but a blatant WP:DUCK sock of LTA troll Mangoeater1000, and could do with blocking. Should you need to be further convinced, consider that Psychonot's recent edits include changes to articles about pro wrestling, Bollywood, New York educational institutions, and Middle Eastern political topics, all of which are well-established hotspots of Mangoeater1000. Cheers. 2A02:C7F:8E0C:6600:2042:5CA1:44DE:7A7B (talk) 04:06, 28 September 2017 (UTC)

Hello Oshwah. The IP who commented here might have thought to tell you about a parallel discussion on my talk page. See User talk:EdJohnston#Psychonot, where two different editors are accusing one another of being socks of LTAs. One option would be to file Psychonot at WP:Sockpuppet investigations/Mangoeater1000 and see what checkuser says. The IP who posted here is hopping within a range. You can see the whole /64 of their contributions at this link. Psychonot says the IP who has been disputing with him is a sock of Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/The abominable Wiki troll/Archive. One of the Wiki troll's IP ranges is this /24 which was blocked by User:JamesBWatson on 28 September. There was also this abortive 3RR complaint which was removed by User:SkyWarrior as block evasion. Other admins probably know more about one or both of these editors (Mangoeater, Wiki troll) than I do. 14:36, 28 September 2017 (UTC)
Yes, I asked Oshwah because he was directly involved. I asked for your help, but you sided with glaring sockpuppet Psychonot because he has an account. By the way, I edit from a shared access point within student accommodation, so you might want to think twice before blocking that Sky range (at the advice of a blatant Mangoeater1000 troll, no less) and denying multiple people the chance to edit. 2A02:C7F:8E0C:6600:C32:5F1:297C:D897 (talk) 15:16, 28 September 2017 (UTC)
Does any part of this prevent you from notifying Oshwah of discussions you have been involved in elsewhere, under different variations of your IP? EdJohnston (talk) 15:54, 28 September 2017 (UTC)

An i.p address is making useless/test edits everyday on the same article. Spam maybe?

Check it out. The user keeps changing a spelling of a word and immediately changes it back. This has been going on now for 3 days I assume, Could you like block or warn him please? ShotgunMavericks ❯❯❯   🕊✍🏻 09:59, 28 September 2017 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) ShotgunMavericks: I see you haven't warned any of the IP addresses on their talk pages. I'll do so for you, but may I recommend you install WP:TW? It definitely makes anti-vandalism work easier. :-) Patient Zerotalk 10:28, 28 September 2017 (UTC)
ShotgunMavericks - Interesting... I'm going to hold off for now but let me know if things get out of hand and I'll take another look... ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 04:36, 30 September 2017 (UTC)

Another Spartan Race conspiracy IP

Hey there, you most recently blocked an IP that's been whinging about being greatly wronged over the history of the Spartan Race brand for several years. You blocked them when they left [REDACTED - Oshwah] on my talk page, but they're back with more BLP-violating allegations at Talk:Spartan Race. I'm clearly involved; could you take another look? Cheers. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 02:08, 30 September 2017 (UTC)

Ivanvector - Yes I can. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 04:36, 30 September 2017 (UTC)
