Dalibor Dedek (* 21. june 1957, the Czech entrepreneur, founder and co-owner of the JABLOTRON Group companies).
Studies and career beginnings
[edit]He was trained as an electrician in Sklostroj Trutnov, Czech Republic, he graduated from the SPSE technical vocational school in Jicin, and in 1983 graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Czech Technical University in Prague. He worked as a developer at the LIAZ Jablonec Company. After the Revolution he founded Jablotron Ltd with a group of enthusiastic friends.
The JABLOTRON company
[edit]Jablotron Ltd. started in 1990 with four people (Dalibor Dedek, Peter Heinl, Zdenek Holek and Jiri Ersil) in the attic spaces of a family house. Under the leadership of Dalibor Dedek, the company developed into an internationally respected, purely Czech producer of security and communications technology. The basis of the success of Jablotron is the development of its own products and its focus on research into new technologies. After twenty years of work, the company has become one of the most successful Czech companies. In addition to security technology Jablotron is internationally famous for manufacturing a giant mobile phone. To maintain flexibility and rapid response capability, the company was transformed into a holding company called Jablotron Group Inc. Dalibor Dedek transferred part of the shares to managers, who manage the company. He himself also continues to participate in shaping the vision and plans for further development.
Community activities
[edit]Dalibor Dedek follows the principle that the resources generated by the company have to serve its own further economic development. Thanks to very successful business, the company can afford to finance community projects too. With the transformation of the company into a holding structure JABLOTRON Foundation was established, which coordinates the community projects and activities of all group companies. Some significant community activities can be mentioned, for example:
- The long-term co-financing of the purchase of equipment for the hospital in Jablonec nad Nisou
- Equipping maternity hospitals throughout the Czech Republic with life-saving Nanny baby breathing monitors
- The construction of a care home for seniors
- Lighting up dangerous pedestrian crossings in Jablonec nad Nisou
- The long-term financing of winter accommodation for homeless persons in Prague
- The reconstruction of the primary school in Kresice, which was devastated by floods
- Restoring a historical church in Hejnice in the Jizera mountains
- Financing the maintenance and reconstruction of the Museum of Glassmaking in Kristianov
- Reconstruction of the Presidential Cabin, a favorite stop for tourists in the Jizera mountains
- The purchase and consequent care for mountainous land in the Jizera mountains
- Co-financing of the Neuron Foundation for the support of science
- Co-financing of the Endowment Fund for the fight against corruption
