MichDiaspora is a professor of Jewish Studies and Ancient Languages. He is proficient in Classical Hebrew; Babylonian, Persian, and Galilean Aramaic; Koine Greek; Sahidic Coptic, Ancient Ugaritic, and Classical Syriac. He is also studied in Medieval and Modern German, Castillian and Mexican Spanish, Ladino, Yiddish, and Russian.

Research Interests

Research topics include Jewish involvement in the US Civil War, 19th-century Michigan politicians, Native American genealogy, and Judaica.
