My name is McLean Long and I am a 16 year old running start student at Everett Community College. I was born in Seattle, WA and I am currently living in Everett, WA. I am a Portrait Photographer who loves taking photos of people, but I also love all types of photography, such as landscape and artistic photography. I have lived in Washington state for my entire life (16 years) and I have loved every minute of it. The geography, the rain, and the beautiful warm summers. The 8-9 months of rain during the winter make the summers feel even more eventful and welcoming in my opinion.

I am interested in a wide variety of topics on Wikipedia that range from is the Earth flat to was Neil Armstrong really the first man on the moon. I can see my self writing about the comparison of two peoples opinions on whether the Earth is flat or round, such as an argumentative essay. Wikipedia has always interested me ever since I was a kid, for many reasons. It seems as if whenever you look something up Wikipedia is the first result and it always as a rather good summary of that topic.

Thank you for visiting my page, have a great day!

Article Review

[edit]

I have been interested in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 since the very first day it came out. I know how to play the Call of Duty series because I've been playing video games since I was 4 years old. My favorite game out of the series is Modern Warfare 2, hence why I chose Modern Warfare 2 to do my article on. I visited the Modern Warfare 2 page I noticed three aspects worth commenting on including biased sources, dead links, and if the article was up to date.

Citations

[edit]

There are many page links on the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Wikipedia page, and I mean a lot. All of the citations were rather legit and were very accurate and had good reliable sources to back them up. However, with the citations many of them did have dead links. Some of them just straight up taking me to dead Wikipedia pages, an error code or an inaccurate page of what I actually clicked on.

Age

[edit]

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 came out over just about 10 years ago now. It was released on November 10th, 2009. The Wikipedia article was released around the same time. The page has been kept up to date with the last official edit being just last month on September 22nd, 2018. However there is some minor room for improvement on keeping it up to date. Because it has now been about month since the last time it was updated.

Structure/Completeness

[edit]

The structure/completeness of the article is actually very good. Its laid out in a very nice, original, and old fashion way. There is the original topic heading for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and subtopic headings for smaller subjects such as the "development" of the game. One thing I saw with the subtopics is that they seemed a little bit to scrunched up. I believe they should've been more separated. For example under the "Story" heading its just a combination of the whole story under one subtopic, instead it should have been multiple sub topics explaining each story mission individually so it doesn't seem bunched up and is easier for the eye to read.

Summary

[edit]

Overall I'd rate the article as a rather good article that would need minor improvements. The information provided is extremely good with lots of detail all the way throughout the Wikipedia page. There was many citations, however many of them were dead links or just error pages that did not work. The sources were all very good and reliable. The "Sales and Revenue" subtopic was quite interesting to me, the fact that it had made $500 million within the games first five days of launch is awesome, however i wish they added in the article where most of the games were bought from. I believe that if their was a tad bit more detail throughout the text the page would be just perfect.

(Side note: As part of this assignment, I also posted a question on the talk page of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.)
