Santiago Tulyehualco (Spanish pronunciation: [tul.ʝeˈwal.ko] from Nahuatl: place around the tulles) is one of the fourteen towns located in the east of Mexico City, Mexico, in the borough of Xochimilco. It is adjoined to the west by the town of San Luis Tlaxialtemalco; to the east by San Juan Ixtayopan; to the north by Tláhuac; and to the south by the extinct volcano Teuhtli and San Gregorio Atlapulco.
Tulyehualco was part of the nine towns that are inside the ancient Lake Chalco, together with Xochimilco, Nativitas, Acalpixca, Atlapulco, Tlaxialtemalco, Tláhuac, Tetelco, Tezompa y Mixquic.[1]
