Hi Avenue X at Cicero!

I heartily greet you and 1900 Indian Wikipedians on the 64th anniversary of our independence. This is probably the first time we celebrate our independence on-wiki. Our community has achieved much. During this period, we have travelled rapidly on the path of development and have seen success in many articles. But there still is much to be done. For this we need active volunteers like you, who help the community grow.

I heartily invite you to join the WikiProject India, because before I posted this message, WikiProject India has members just around the 300 mark, although there are 1900 Indian Wikipedians. So, I'm sure that the WikiProject can do well with a couple extra hands. You can join the WikiProject by simply adding the {{WikiProject India topicon}} template or the {{User WPIndia}} template to your Userboxes. Browse through the WikiProject page to know about the different dimensions of the India-realated topics. Also, do not forget to add the Noticeboard for India-related topics to your watchlist.

I request you to join the IRC Channel of WikiProject India at #wikipedia-en-india connect if you feel like, so that we can make the channel a go to place for people requiring any help on India related topics.

Let me also take this opportunity to remind you of the First WikiConference India, which is being organized in Mumbai and will take place on 18 – 20 November 2011.
You can see the event's Official website here.

But the activities start now with the 100 day long WikiOutreach.

As you are part of WikiProject India community we invite you to be there for conference and share your experience. Thank you for your contributions.

We look forward to see you at Mumbai on 18 – 20 November 2011

Jai Hind!
