After coaching the Ridgebacks for 6 seasons Nystrom stepped down and handed the duties over to Justin Caruana in 2015[2].Caruana was an assitant coach at UOIT for the men's program. Currently joining Caruana are assistant coaches Tom St.James, Melissa Berney and player mentor Natalie Spooner. Spooner is in her first year as a mentor as she currently plays for the Toronto Furies of CWHL, she is the first woman in hockey history to win gold medals in the Canadian Winter Games and the Clarkson Cup in the same year. Spooner has won two gold medals for Women's International hockey, one in 2012 at the World Championships and the second was in 2014 at the Olympics in Sochi.[3]
