Proposal: Remove non-notable awards

[edit]

The following awards have had their articles deleted from Wikipedia for being non-notable, that should also in-turn effect their listing here as the infobox shouldn't list non-notable awards. The awards that should be removed are: Kansas City Film Critics Circle (deleted here), Las Vegas Film Critics Society (deleted here) and Southeastern Film Critics Association (deleted here). Additionally, the documentation should be made clear that only notable awards (those with an article) should be added to the infobox. --Gonnym (talk) 11:25, 29 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

seems reasonable. I have removed these from the infobox. Frietjes (talk) 13:45, 29 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Dealing with lesser used awards

[edit]

at the moment, any of the |awardN= awards are sorted to the bottom. but, it could be desirable to have the template default to alphabetical order? in addition, it is a bit tedious to renumber the |awardN= awards to achieve a particular order. it occurred to me that we could use LUA to support the following syntax:

| AsianetAward = [[Asianet Film Awards]]
| AsianetW = 1
| AsianetN = 2

and then have the backend module sort the rows alphabetically. we could have default labels for the awards already in the template, to avoid the need to change any existing uses. what do you think? Frietjes (talk) 13:52, 29 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

note that Module:Infobox video game awards could be used as the base, renaming it to something more generic. Frietjes (talk) 13:55, 29 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It would definitely be great to have do self-sorting. —Joeyconnick (talk) 02:10, 29 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Automatic sum of total wins and nominations

[edit]

I've added code to the sandbox so it can sum the total wins and nominations without user input. It can be viewed in action here. Thoughts? --Gonnym (talk) 16:19, 6 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Any comments? --Gonnym (talk) 12:35, 19 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Looked good from what I saw. I guess if we did the self-sorting/flexible rows mentioned above, any logic would need to account for a variable number of awards? —Joeyconnick (talk) 02:11, 29 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
If the code would change to a lua design, the code wouldn't care how the rows are sorted, it would just read the awardW and awardN values and sum them up. It would be even more elegant in that you don't have to make sure every added award is listed, as it will just run a for loop over every entry in the list. --Gonnym (talk) 07:58, 29 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Awards not included in this template

[edit]

While trying to convert the "infobox" at List of awards and nominations received by Jennifer Lawrence to use this one, the following awards which were listed, were not found in this template (and exceeded the 15 custom option). Should they be added to this template?
