How do we add more preprint servers?

[edit]

I looked a little at the code, but not sure how to add more preprint servers like PsyArXiv Preprints, for example, doi:10.31234/osf.io/92yas   — Chris Capoccia 💬 15:18, 10 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This template is merely a wrapper template around the various native cs1 preprint templates: {{cite arxiv}}, {{cite biorxiv}}, {{cite citeseerx}}, {{cite medrxiv}}, {{cite ssrn}}. Yeah, I wrote it but I really wonder if we should keep it.
To add psyarxiv to this template, Module:Citation/CS1 must be modified to support a native {{cite psyarxiv}} template or, cs1|2 must be modified to support this template natively and the individual preprint templates deprecated and ultimately unsupported (probably as redirects to the native {{cite preprint}} template).

maybe recommendation should be to use {{cite report}} with |type=Preprint which would allow for any existing parameters and identifiers without restriction.   — Chris Capoccia 💬 14:42, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
