[edit]

  • I will review this.Zigzig20s (talk) 17:12, 12 April 2018 (UTC)
  • New enough (one week).
  • Long enough.
  • Needs more in-line references.
  • To be continued...Zigzig20s (talk) 18:13, 12 April 2018 (UTC)
  • User:Gerda Arendt: You've reverted my edit because you think there isn't enough about her "early life", which is fair enough, but could you please in-line the reference at the end of each sentence? When you only add a reference at the end of the paragraph, nobody knows if the entire paragraph is referenced or only the last sentence.Zigzig20s (talk) 20:32, 12 April 2018 (UTC)
Not even in a FA would I do that ;) - We need them only at the end of the sentence(s) for the hook, - please check the rules. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:35, 12 April 2018 (UTC)
Right now it's impossible to know which reference tells us she graduated in 1988 and 1991 for example.Zigzig20s (talk) 20:41, 12 April 2018 (UTC)
You go to the next ref that comes, and find two, and it should be in both. - Only quotations require a citation right behind them, DYK? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:55, 12 April 2018 (UTC)
User:Gerda Arendt: I don't think the Bach Cantatas Website is a reliable source, is it? It looks like a personal fansite.Zigzig20s (talk) 13:28, 13 April 2018 (UTC)
It's not a fansite but the most detailed Website on the topic, quoted in books. In this article, it's there for readers who don't read German. It never supports a biographic fact alone. If you want to make life more difficult for people not reading German, put it to External links. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:32, 13 April 2018 (UTC)
The other reference does not mention Swarthmore College, does it?Zigzig20s (talk) 13:56, 13 April 2018 (UTC)
You are right, it caters for German readers who won't know that name. Found another ref, - it's in her standard bio, + no contentious fact anyway ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:12, 13 April 2018 (UTC)
This does not look like a reliable source either, and this one is not third-party, just an online store, isn't it?Zigzig20s (talk) 22:45, 13 April 2018 (UTC)
musicweb.international is highly respected (and we just had a hook about Julian podger, mentioning that same recording), and the other is a record publisher, and again: is there anything contentious about where she studied? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:57, 14 April 2018 (UTC)
  • The hook is fine. The only problem is that it's cited with her faculty webpage, instead of a truly third-party source. Are there not more sources about this woman in newspapers or books?Zigzig20s (talk) 00:00, 14 April 2018 (UTC)
Relatively young opera singers are not normally covered in books. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:57, 14 April 2018 (UTC)

The "first recording" is supported my the recordings. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:07, 14 April 2018 (UTC)
There's really a problem with references in this article. kuk-art.com is not an RS. Can you please find better references? I am happy to OK it once you have done that.Zigzig20s (talk) 01:19, 15 April 2018 (UTC)
Do I understand right that you doubt the fact that she studied at Swarthmore College? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:47, 15 April 2018 (UTC)
Just read what I wrote. kuk-art is not an RS. Can you not find one? It's OK to cite German newspapers if that's all you can find, as they would reliable third-party sources and most browsers will translate the text automatically.Zigzig20s (talk) 12:54, 15 April 2018 (UTC)
Sorry, I just spent a few hours updating an article for Recent deaths. In comparison, this issue is of minor importance. I also have a GA nomination overdue. Please accept that it doesn't matter who says that she studied in Swarthmore if it's clear and uncontentious that she did, or wait. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:09, 15 April 2018 (UTC)
Why doesn't her faculty webpage mention it? This is weird. It wouldn't be third party, but at least it would be reliable.Zigzig20s (talk) 13:14, 15 April 2018 (UTC)
Read further up: "it caters for German readers who won't know that name". --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:18, 15 April 2018 (UTC)
