[edit]

Hi Wikipedians, Note that contents for the History, Products and Awards sections were moved from the Wi-LAN Inc. section of the Hatim Zaghloul article and improved upon. Thank you. —JOHNMOORofMOORLAND (talk) 18:50, 25 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Patent troll?

[edit]

I noticed that one of the related articles is for Patent troll. I came here via a page about an MMO that had been sued by these folks. There's no mention here about any of the lawsuits that this company had filed. May be of interest if this was added to the article. --70.61.104.62 (talk) 15:00, 19 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Reversing Page Move

[edit]

This is a bit of a confusing one. Though they did release a change of name announcement, they are actually still separately utilizing the WiLAN brand and it has its own independent notability.

I have reverted the move and renaming of WiLAN's Wikipedia page to Quarterhill. WiLAN is a subsidiary of Quarterhill and still conducts business under the WiLAN name and deserves its own Wikipedia page. For the purpose of clarity, please refer to http://www.obj.ca/article/ottawas-quarterhill-fails-impress-investors-record-q3-revenues, which states that: “Quarterhill is a holding company with a portfolio that currently includes three companies: Patent licensing firm WiLAN, transportation technology company International Road Dynamics and Viziya...”

I also found they are maintaining websites for both brands and are still issuing separate releases from the parent and subsidiary. Ocrivski (talk) 19:12, 31 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I see the case for having two pages, so I've created a separate Quarterhill page instead. I was too lazy to do this previously, but I agree WiLan deserves its own page -Mparrault (talk) 23:59, 31 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
