I was discharged from Valley Forge on 13Aug 1958 after a 2 month stay, and I think that perhaps you(whoever wrote this) is in error about the 'official' name of the Hospital and that it was NEVER known as Valley Forge Army Hospital. My official discharge papers(far from being 'informal') have the name as 'Valley Forge ARMY Hospital. It seems odd that the officers who discharged me would make the mistake of using an 'improper name' of the installation on an official discharge paper( aside from the fact that the name over the hospital door was Valley Forge ARMY Hospital, as I remember). My challenge is that the name IS/WAS as it appears on my papers, who would know better than the US Army???. I can and will supply a copy of my DD214(discharge paper) if you desire. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.33.126.20 (talkcontribs) 15:16, 25 February 2007

I was a patient at VFGH for 19 months in 1968 and 1969. We, the patient population, claimed that VFGH stood for "Very Few Go Home" Although we received excellent care and very few patients died at VFGH -- if you made it to the states you would most likely live.
