TTC routes in Markham discontinued

[edit]

I was adding a source about that all TTC routes in York Region to be discontinued which was said by Steve Munro in here: [1]. But Secondarywaltz thinks that this source is a speculation blog but the evidence is 100% true. TTCTransportationFan4644 (talk) 16:28, 16 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

References

Secondarywaltz, I have provided a reference that explains the truth from Steve Munro about the TTC in York conversion to YRT operated routes. I bet you haven't read it yet. TTCTransportationFan4644 (talk) 19:16, 16 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@TTCTransportationFan4644: That only discusses Vaughan. Steve's blog is his opinion, but he does give a reference from the TTC here http://www.ttc.ca/TTC_Surveys/Subway_Access_Adjust.jsp for Line 1 Subway Extension Bus Changes, Proposed Bus Network Adjustments. That is what should be used in Wikipedia, in reference to Vaughan, but not for Markham. Secondarywaltz (talk) 20:11, 16 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Secondarywaltz, Then why don't you go add it. I'm pretty sure you're tying to say that the YRT would replace TTC routes in Vaughan but would remain in Markham. If us does, then Markham would be the only city where you cannot use Presto. TTCTransportationFan4644 (talk) 00:13, 17 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Now you are talking nonsense. The reference only applies to bus routes affected by the subway extension in Vaughan and PRESTO is already in use in Markham. Secondarywaltz (talk) 17:44, 18 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Direct route to Ottawa?

[edit]

An editor has been edit waring over the following:

Currently, the Highway 407 is being extended to Highway 115. Once completed in 2019, it will provide a direct route for traffic between Markham and Ottawa.

If this editor means a direct route by controlled-access highways, then this is incorrect. Both Ontario Highway 404 and Ontario Highway 407 are currently within Markham's boundaries, see [1]. These two 400-series highways provide access to a number of cities in North America, not just the arbitrarily selected Ottawa. The editor also stated that Ontario Highway 115 will provide "a direct route". How is Highway 115 anymore "direct" than Ontario Highway 7, or driving to Ottawa by backroad? And why Ottawa and not Niagara Falls or Miami or a thousand other places? This source was used to support the edit, and does not mention Ottawa or a direct route to anywhere.
