Broadway play

[edit]

The 1958 play had a long run on Broadway, directed by and starring Cyril Ritchard, and was revived many times thereafter, often with Douglas Fairbanks, Jr.. Does anyone want to write an article about it? -- Ssilvers (talk) 15:19, 26 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Harold Fong "Toy" character

[edit]

The article as I write this describes the character Toy in modern politically correct terms as the "prized cook" but there are newspaper and magazine articles from the time period describing him as the "Chinese houseboy" or "Chinese servant" (the latter, Life magazine, June 16, 1961, page 23). I haven't seen the movie (hope to one day), so I don't know, maybe there is a scene of him in the kitchen actually cooking. I just wanted to point this out in case he isn't a cook, just a household servant and another character plays the cook. 5Q5 (talk) 17:14, 2 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
