Is this an encyclopedia article?

At 1,944 words, this article reads more like a magazine piece than an encyclopedia article.

Second point: after being treated to a blow by blow description of his early sailing career, we're told he inherited enough money to buy a yacht and he's quoted as saying he never sailed before.
