Support Looking at the disambiguation page, it does look like Pittsburgh Steelers is by far the most common one. While I don't generally support page moves when it's more of a localized fame in English speaking areas (American football team, in this case), this one does seem like the right choice. --Wirbelwindヴィルヴェルヴィント (talk) 05:43, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Incredibly US-centric? I made the proposal because, of all the clubs listed, only one has any sort of notability outside the Pittsburgh Steelers, and actually it's a now defunct rugby team. "Illawarra Steelers" gets 9,000 ghits, while "Pittsburgh Steelers" gets 2,000,000. I was doing this for notability, not nationalist purposes. Searching for "steelers -pittsburgh" brings up 1,580,000 ghits[1]. Undoubtably some of those still do refer to the Pittsburgh Steelers, but the top three links are other sports teams named Steelers. We should err on the side of internationalism. Someone from the UK who types "Steelers" probably wants to see the Sheffield Steelers and doesn't care about the ones from Pittsburgh.
Comment: Agree we should err on the side of internationalism. The google test has limitations even on deciding whether something is notable; In deciding which of two or more things is more notable, it's extremely biased towards the USA, for the simple reason that a disproportionate number of Internet users are from the USA. No change of vote. Andrewa07:16, 2 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose. Agree that the Pittsburgh Steelers are the most common usage of the terms, but I think it's easy enough to add "Pittsburgh" into any link that is using just Steelers. Let's just hope the team never changes cities! --Groggy Dice T|C06:15, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
