Sparks Girls?

[edit]

This section reeks of unverified claims, gross neglect of NPOV, etc. Needs complete retooling or removal. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Larsvolta (talkcontribs) 10:38, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Harmful?

[edit]

The Red Bull article discusses potential health risks associated with mixing alcohol with energy drinks that contain taurine. Are these risks worth mentioning here as well? M. Frederick 06:01, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Sparks cans.jpg

[edit]

Image:Sparks cans.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 08:24, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"cash"?

[edit]

I really doubt Sparks was purchased for millions in "cash." "We have the briefcases! Give us the Sparks!" - the citation link doesn't work for me to double-check (you never know...) or else I would have clarified it myself. I actually kinda hope it was actually cash. 24.17.186.164 (talk) 04:51, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

was?

[edit]

This article starts off with a "was" sentence, as if the product is now discontinued. It still exists, it just no longer contains caffeine. It obviously should start off with a summary telling what the product now is, and have the fact that it used to contain caffeine and other stimulants elsewhere, and worded differently. I'd do it myself, but all I can come up with is "Sparks is an alcoholic beverage." —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kronos o (talkcontribs) 01:17, 24 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reworded the lede. --Rosiestep (talk) 05:01, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It is kind of confusing....but no better way to word it :) "was" as in the "original" version was geared/marketed as an alcohol energy drink....P.S. I find this line funny, "We're doing it to protect the public health of our young people and to reform business practices," said S.F. City Attorney Dennis Herrera.[8] - what your people are they referring to....? The under 21 crowd? Cause last I heard, after 21 I can make my OWN decisions...../rant off :P —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.204.253.120 (talk) 03:22, 23 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Launch year

[edit]

Sparks was launched prior to 2002, it was 1998/1999. The concept was originally to have a alcohol energy drink with a vodka base, however ATF regulation at the time prohibited that, therefore a malt base had to be used. ATF was not impressed with the label design and modifications had to be made to the original submission to keep it from being confused as having a health benefit. ATF was also not a fan of the + and - on the label but approved the design after the original modifications. 2601:603:4800:5E40:38E8:ED5B:DBD8:B532 (talk) 15:24, 1 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
