I'm not sure I understand the reasons for deletion. Skint is a common word, used widely, is it not normal to have definitions of words in wikipedia? Maybe I've misunderstood the purpose after all. buck, which is a slang term for a dollar is here, quid, which is a slang term for a pound is here,... why is "skint" not acceptable?

Hi! Take a look at Wikipedia's official policy on what Wikipedia is not. I'll take the matter in front of other editors to discuss, let's see if we can find consensus. Weregerbil 12:49, 8 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. To clarify: I'm not looking to debate it, more to understand the distinction. Is there a discussion forum where these decisions take place?--Neilajh 13:21, 8 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The discussion is taking place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Skint. You might want to read Wikipedia:Wikipedia is not a dictionary for more information on this policy. Note that Wiktionary already has a definition of skint. —Caesura(t) 15:35, 8 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
