Dab cleanup that involved removals

[edit]

In cleaning up this page, I removed some entries that did not involve articles. They were:

They may well merit entry on the dab page, if they do, feel free to put them back in, but as follows:

*[[Brake shoe]], the restraint provided to the linings the brake moving against the brake drum
*[[S.H.O.E.]], an event at the World Series of Poker
*[[Simple HTML Ontology Extensions]]

Further cleanup

[edit]

This page was marked for cleanup per MoS:DAB. I removed the following entries (they may be moved to wikt:shoe now though):

  • In photography and filmmaking, a shoe is also the term for a piece of hardware attached directly to a camera, which allows it to be afixed to a variety of objects or stands using corresponding "receivers". Many standards exist for shoes and receivers to allow qiuck changes and interoperability of many cameras and stands. In this usage, the terms "shoe" and "receiver" are often interchanged. This type of shoe is also called a "cleat". -- might need its own article sometime, but it's IMO still not significant enough to have one now. Also, "cleat" is another dab page where it is defined with "shoe" (circular definition).
  • In engineering, a shoe is a component designed to partially enclose another component for the purpose of mounting or protecting. -- no linked-to article, and I don't know where to look for one.
