GA review – see WP:WIAGA for criteria

I always like to return any reviews, and I did say I've been meaning to tackle some more of the WP:FILM nominations, so here goes.

  1. Is it reasonably well written?
    A. Prose quality:
    B. MoS compliance for lead, layout, words to watch, fiction, and lists:
"Sang Pencerah marks the feature film debut of Ihsan Tatote and Giring Ganesha" -> Given that these actors seem notable enough to warrant mention, I would redlink them. It's up to you, but a link now could encourage creation of their respective articles.
I've redlinked the three main cast members without articles (Lukman Sardi has been in a dozen films or so)
"It was seen in theatres by over 1 million people — the only Indonesian film of 2010 to do so." -> Drop the spaces either side of the dash here (and with the others), or replace it with an en dash if you want to retain the spacing (so "people – the"). Either of those approaches is fine so it's up to you.
    Changed to ndash
"However, some Muslim critics blasted it for being too liberal." -> I think "blasted" might be too informal here. Perhaps "derided"?
    How's "decried"?
"Upon his return to Yogyakarta, Darwis changes his name to Ahmad Dahlan (Lukman Sardi)" -> To me, this reads like the introduction of another character rather than an older version of the same one. Perhaps phrase it as "Upon his return to Yogyakarta, Darwis (now played by Lukman Sardi) changes his name to Ahmad Dahlan".
    Very nice. Done.
" in charge of finding players for all roles except the leads" -> "charge of auditioning the supporting cast".
    Nice and concise. Done
"while the lead singer of Nidji" -> I would stick "the band" in before Nidji, but it's your call on that.
    Meh, it's context. Done.
"The film was not nominated for best picture at the 2010 Indonesian Film Festival after several nominees threatened to withdraw if Sang Pencerah was nominated." -> Not an error, just would be nice to know if these were individual nominees or if entire films were being considered for withdrawal.
    I'll take a look.
  2. Is it factually accurate and verifiable?
    A. References to sources:
    B. Citation of reliable sources where necessary:
    C. No original research:
Citations all seem to be in order, not seeing any issues there.
  3. Is it broad in its coverage?
    A. Major aspects:
    B. Focused:
Scope looks good to me. I had to look up some of the linked articles to learn more about the true story this is based on, but I think that's standard for biopics so I don't feel you need to add anything.
  4. Is it neutral?
    Fair representation without bias:
Doesn't seem to be a problem. Mentions mild controversy without getting bogged down in it or seeming to take a side.
  5. Is it stable?
    No edit wars, etc:
Seems stable, but is still pretty new. Don't think this is going to be a problematic article though.
  6. Does it contain images to illustrate the topic?
    A. Images are copyright tagged, and non-free images have fair use rationales:
    B. Images are provided where possible and appropriate, with suitable captions:
Sole image used is non-free but has a solid rationale. Doesn't seem to be any free images of the principal cast or the director but if one turns up it'd be a nice addition.
  7. Overall:
    Pass or Fail:
Not a lot of work needed here, article's in pretty good shape already. Just going to stick it on hold while the few points raised are seen to. GRAPPLE X 23:29, 18 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
